I can only comment on the Contemporary and the Poly as we have stayed at both. As far as the deluxes the Contemporary theming did nothing for our 3 ds. I have stayed in the main bldg. once but with the family we stayed in one of the wings. It was very inconvenient in that I had to go into the main bldg. to get breakfast and bring it back to the room. Not to mention a hike to the monorail and front bus stop when you are lugging 3 kids plus a handicapped mom no less. I did not inquire as to the childrens activites. Their good points are marina, boat transportation (good), character meal onsite (chef mickey), Fantastic game room (great if you are stuck in hotel during storms),
Poly (our favorite, can anyone tell), awesome volcano pool, great views of water paegent and mk fireworks from beach, 24 captain cooks snack place, awesome volcano pool with water slide, childrens activities (free, I might add) also I might add I heard the childrens activities at the AKL are getting better. At the Poly the childrens activities are video arcade challenge, free video games for 1 hour two days a week, torch lighting, hula lessons, pool games, arts and crafts and movies in the neverland club something like 12-3, (parent must accompany child). For fathers day when we were there once, they had a table set up in the gch and resort guest children were allowed to make cards for their dads., Marina with water sport access, good bus and boat and monorail transportation options. Good character breakfast at ohanas. etc. Need I say more. If you are rained in so to speak its fun to get on the monorail and resort hop. We let our older dss go to the contemporary to the game room. Its one of our family traditions. We just wait for the storm and give them a roll of quarters each.
