Hello All. My wife, nearly 2 year old daughter and I are spending 4 nights and 3 days at Disney Land Resort between Sunday 5th October and Tuesday 7th October. We also have tickets for Mickey's Halloween party on the Monday.

We would like to meet as many characters as possible, see the parades/shows and do the small rides our daughter can go on. I would like to do the big 'thrill' rides at least once. If time permits we would also like to have a break from the parks for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Do you have any recommendations on how we should approach our day and what we should do first etc with this in mind. Trying to keep the queuing time down where we can.

Thanks

Start early. Do Fantasyland as early as possible before it gets crowded. Visit the princesses in Fantasy Faire - usually a very short line in the am. Do a character meal - like Minnie and Friends at Plaza Inn for breakfast. When you have a chance grab a Fast Pass for a thrill ride. During mid afternoon return to the hotel pool for a little down time. Then return to the parks late afternoon/night when it's cool.

Are you staying onsite (DLH, PPH, or GCF) or off-site? If you are staying onsite, then you have access to EMH. If you are staying off-site and have a qualifying 3-day PH (or longer) ticket, you have access to one MM. If you have have access to either EMH or MM, I would make use of those. Try to be there as early as possible so you can do Fantasyland (especially Peter Pan) at in DL (EMH and MM) and TSMM/Carsland in DCA (EMH only).

Otherwise, I agree that the best plan is take things slowly and try to do things in the morning and early evening. For the thrill rides, make use of FPs (when available) and Baby Swap so that both you and your wife get to ride. Given that only one of you will get to ride at at time, single rider lines might also be helpful (Indy, Matterhorn, Splash, Screamin', Soarin', GRR, and RSR).

If your focus is on Meet and Greets then pay attention to the schedule they provide at the entrance and you can even go to city hall to ask for times a certain character will be appearing.

The most difficult queue right now is the Frozen Meet and Greet. If your daughter is interested you have to go early directly to that line so you can get assigned a Ticket with a return time.

In the Princess fairie you can meet up to 3 Disney Princesses at a time, so go when the line is not too big.

Also there is a Rapunzel show in the theater in front of the princesses, you can also schedule to attend and they do a meet and greet after the show, the line forms to the right and be patient as they come back some minutes after the show.

There is also a Tinkerbell Meet and Greet.

For the regular characters (mickey, minnie, etc) They most of the time will be appearing in the entrance before Main Street and there should be a schedule with times. Mickey and Minnie are also in Toontown in their houses but sometimes the lines can get pretty big.

For the Halloween Party, they still have not provided much details but last year all the MHP headed to toontown for a pre party and there were lots of characters in halloween disguises. Also in Big Thunder Ranch is also a spot for Meet and Greets.

For the rides, like the previous posters had said, you better rely on Fast passes, and Child Swap.

Final Advice: Get there early do as much as you can in the morning, have lunch, head back early afternoon to Hotel for relax/nap, then come back to do some other rides and then get setup for the Parade. Take it easy don't try to do everything in one day.
