Advice on Zhu Zhu or GO GO Pets?

Hiya folks, my DS is turning 7 soon, and he keeps asking me to buy these Zhu Zhu pets - little motorized hampsters complete with cages, ball, etc.

Do you have these? Are they great, or a disappointment?

Where do you find them? Target & Walmart dont have them here, and Amazon sellers have jacked the prices up so high.

Check out the Budget Board. There is an ongoing thread about them. These are HTF right now, stores can't keep them in stock but more stores are starting to get them in. They can be found b&m at Walmart and TRU so far. I think Target will be getting them in Oct (according to a poster on the BB thread).

I just dropped $70 bucks on these this morning for my dd's 6th birthday. I got the last 2 hamsters and the last of what "city" parts they had at Walmart. I think they'll probably be junk. We shall see!

There is a whole thread on this on the budget board. These things will be this yr's Tickle Me Elmo/Cabbage Patch kids come Christmas. Somebody emailed the company and got 1 back about when the whole national roll out is going on. I actually had somebody ask me this at work the other day for them(I'm at Target). She thought they were part of the Gforce movie bit, but I'm like all we have is the soundtrack,. Then she says they're hamsters. And when I told her we don't have them, She says well Walmart has them. I told her to go back and get them, cause they won't last.
And last I checked on Target.com it was like a 4wk lead time for shipping. So if you find them anywhere pick them up.
