Advice on the First and Second Weeks of February

Now that spring AP holder rates have been released I'd like to take advantage of some incredibly low rates. It comes down between the first week of February vs the second week of February.

I realize that the second week of February (2/13-2/17) is just before President's Day weekend, but we only plan to be in the parks Monday-Friday. I know crowd calendars are becoming less and less reliable, but those that I've looked at are showing Monday-Thursday as low to moderate with Friday being high.

So the question is between the 2 weeks, which week would you choose?

I don't think there would be that big of a difference between the two weeks unless there is an event I'm not aware of.
My real advice the first two weeks of Feb. is to pack your fleece coats, hats and gloves... seriously. We used to always go in mid to late Feb and had some really chilly days. Especially if you like to tour at night after dark. We always packed our bathing suits and shorts too. That's just how it is in Feb.

Would totally depend on where you are staying to me, resort could be biggest impact.

Right now, we have a split stay booked the second week of Feb at ASMU (just for arrival day) and then CBR. If we changed it to the first week in February our stay will be at Pop.

I would stay with this. For years I had done a later January or February trip. A few years back I stayed at POP .....and after the two years of MISERY!! being stuck in the middle of a thousand or so BTG kids with no help from management or security; getting minimal sleep, unable to use buses, unable to get in the food court and the pools more like human soup ........ I cancelled the next year at a Disney value. For the last couple years I either stayed off property or booked the very last week of February.

January tends to be one group that goes back to school early February, towards the end of the month and in to February you get another group that goes back later February. So the later you go the groups will be less AND if you stay in a moderate, you are much better off.

Weather, crowds are all relative those two weeks but your hotel use and sleep can be impacted.

Now, after your post, I am wondering if we will be seeing a lot of those tour groups? Never been in Feb. before, always November or December. Any insight would be helpful. Don't mean to hijack the OP's thread, but just wondering. thanks.

I think your resort will be fine, very very few pay the extra to stay moderate. One group will be starting back to school your week so likely not booked but the other group goes back to school end of Feb beginning of March so they will still be coming. I feel like once it is into the second week of February there are fewer groups. The other plus for guests is with the economy there being so bad, might start seeing less groups but since the trips are a big deal ...... who knows.

Oh my goodness HopperFan, you just sealed the deal for me. Your description of what you experienced at Pop is the same exact thing that happened to us the first time we ever stayed at Pop 2 years ago, the last week in February. It was absolutely horrible. A massive invasion of BTG kids checked in on our second to last day. Sadly, three groups had rooms next to ours. It was non-stop profanity, running up and down the halls, you name it, it happened. I was in tears at the front desk was a Cast Member begging to be moved to another room and to no avail we were stuck next to them until we left. We stayed at Pop multiple times before in September and have had wonderful, quiet experiences
