Advice on order to dp parks?

we will be arriving on a Wednesday around 830 AM. I was thinking that we should maybe just do a Water park the day we arrive, then return to our hotel room to get checked in later and hopefully by then our luggage will be there as well. Finishing the day out at Narcoossee's for a mid evening meal and an early bed time to get well rested for our first day at Magic Kingdom.

Would anyone advise to actually do one of the parks the day we arrive instead? I'm just unsure. Also what days of the week are usually better to visit which park? I've read to avoid DTD on weekends but that's pretty much all I've found.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

HOWEVER...
The temperatures have lately been so cold that the Water Park has been closed on selected days.

Hard to predict.

If it is cold you can always hit DisneyQuest. It's indoors and won't tire you out too much. It's good for a few hours of fun.

dont do water parks. you can do a water park anytime and disney water parks are not that great. Stick to magic kingdom and epcot for full days and do half days at HS and AK if you have a hopper. Definitely do a park the day you arrive. Perhaps do one of the lesser parks like HS.

I should have stated that we are going in September! Haha.. So temps will be fine I'm sure. We want to do both water parks. We do not have very many around our city and all of us, besides DH, love them.
Our trip is 10 days and we have 7 day park tickets. I was just thinking that maybe a WP would be a bit more relaxing than going straight to the hot parks right away. I have considered maybe HS that day but we are only doing one day there and eating at 50's. I kind of wanted to kick off our trip with a signature meal!
