Advice on How to Buy Drugstore Comestics

You gotten some great advice so far, if you still looking for more info it would help to have more info about what your looking for. What kind of skin to you have? (oily,dry,combo...ect.)? What kind of coverage foundation are you looking?

Walgreens has Revlon on sale right now. Buy one get one Free. I LOVE their eyeshadows.

I'm not crazy about CoverGirl. Especially their eyeshadow.

L'Oreal has good foundation and loose powder. However, I bought the Revlon foundation last night (because of the sale), and I really like it.

I agree with Aurora about the Sonia Kashuk line at target. I love everything I've tried from her line. My favorites are all of the brushes and the tinted moisturizer. It's probably a little too thick to really be called a tinted moisturizer but it's light enough not to cake up but offers a lot of coverage. It's my holy grail foundation.

There's a book called Don't go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me y Paula Geboun. Available at our library and maybe yours, too. It's kind of like a Consumer Reports for cosmetics and really helped me NOT waste my money on poor quality products.

For example, she rates Sonia Kashuks products (and just about every other kind you can think of). Most of them got positive reviews, but it would be good to know that particula brands concealing stick was rated poorly.

With so many choices I found her book helpful when I switched from expensive brands to drugstore brands.
