Advice on Early Entry and Rope Drop

I have a question!

I'm going on my Birthneyland Trip from the 11/29-12/01, and I've way over-planned everything, but I'm having some issues deciding what to do on that Monday.

We're staying at the Grand California so the plan is to hit that park on Sunday for early entry, but Monday the 30th I'd like to do early entry for a couple rides and still hit Disneyland for rope drop. Is that even feasible? Or would it be better to skip EE and just wait around for rope drop? And is there a better way to enter Disneyland if we start in California adventure than leaving one park and going through the main entrance?

Any advice is totally welcome, and thanks ahead of time!

Hmmm... going from the early entry park to rope drop at the other park might be a bit busy, but I can't think of any other reason to worry about it. The lines getting into DL might be a bit overwhelming and discouraging though!

The only way to get from one to the other is that very short walk across the esplanade, there is no transportation that runs between parks. (Although- does anyone but me wonder why they didn't create a DCA Monorail stop when it runs through the darn GCH? Haha- my hubby SO thought it would stop there, and was amazed when I was right...)

Have fun being in Disneyland for your birthday!!

I think it all depends on what rides/attractions you want to accomplish at both DL and DCA. If you attend EE at DCA you may be able to get in a couple rides before DL rope drop but when you go over to DL there will already be a lot of people lined up for DL rope drop. There is no better way from DCA to DL. You still have to exit DCA into the esplanade and enter DL entrance. The only advantage is you won't need to go through security check again.

Thank you both! I was hoping I could start Monday at Disneyland -- after maybe a couple rides at Calfornia -- with picking up fastpasses for the more popular rides, and waiting in line for Pirates and Haunted Mansion, but it might be better to wait for Tuesday for that since it'll probably be less packed anyway.
