Advice on Best Western Park Place Inn VS Carousel Inn????

I'm a bit torn between the Best Western Park Place Inn and the Carousel Inn. We don't care about a pool or hot tub but would like an easy quick walk to Disneyland and to any restaurants around. Also wouldn't mind a free breakfast with a semi-good variety. Definitely want a microwave/fridge to stock things, a TV (especially if they have payperview movies or something!) and a bathtub because so far our daughter is still scared of showers. Can anyone tell me if either of these places have a bathtub and which would have the most room for the 3 of us? We will probably spend more time in the room than most people would as our daughter so far gets tired out easily. Also does anyone recommend any specific rooms or parts of the hotel to get if we are looking more for a bit of quiet (for naps/nights?)....THANKS :flower3:

We just stayed at Carousel Inn and what tipped our decision towards Carousel Inn was the famous Continental Breakfast. Carousel Inn was very classy and clean, the floors were wooden oak-type and reminded me of England style hotels. It was a bit small for our family of four with two strollers though. And be sure to request a room that is elevator accessible should you need it, because there is a section that is not. It is very cutely Disney-themed and the view from the 5th floor, also where breakfast is served is fantastic.
One complaint though is that for the breakfast, I was told there was going to be cereal and oatmeal, but there was neither. They did however have fruit, toast, OJ, Coffee, Tea, and Boiled Eggs, and donuts.
Also, check-in time was supposed to be 3pm, we tried to get in sooner, but our room wasn't even ready until 4pm and they wouldn't accomodate and allow us to check out a little later than 11am. They told us that it was $10 an hour if we so wanted to.
The staff was friendly, and I did like the parking space which was all shaded so our things didn't boil in the sun.
I think I'd stay there again. But I would like to try the famous and much adored Tropicana Inn right next door.

BWPPI is the closest spot to the crosswalk. I've never stayed there, but heard a lot of good about it.

Hope this helps alittle.

I haven't stayed at BWPPI but had a look at it last trip and would consider staying there...

Carousel Inn was excellent for us, we were one level up towards the front of the hotel and it was very quiet. Because there are two sets of elevators you don't have a lot of foot traffic past your room which is great. The breakfast was good and we got a free late check out of 1pm. I haven't heard such good things about BWPPI breakfast, someone else might be better to advise on this.

Both have microwaves and fridges, both have good sized rooms, CI has a bathtub (I can't say for BWPPI), BWPPI has a hot tub, both have about the same sized pools, BWPPI is closer to DL (by about 50 yards).

I don't think you will lose with either so would go for the best price.

As I understand it, you can't take your breakfast back to your room at the BWPPI. But you can at the Carousel. So don't know if that matter to you.

I'd stay it either honestly, don't think you can really go wrong. They both have excellent location. BWPPI being the best there, I mean talk about right at the crosswalk!

I'm still not sure why they wouldn't accommodate me for my later check-out since they checked me in so late to begin with. I also know they weren't sold out that night, but then maybe it wasn't as busy when you stayed?
Everywhere else we've stayed, they were pretty good about late check out, except this one time at Carousel Inn unfortunately. It could very well been the wrong representative/sales agent I asked, maybe they had a bad day, maybe it was more busy than I had noticed... They usually use their own discretion.
It did fluster me though, since we had to pay $10 more to check out 30 mins after check out time. This was the first time I had to pay to check out later like that.
Maybe I'm just not good at the art of negotiation, perhaps?? :confused3

Well, good luck deciding!

THANKS! Well, so far it seems Carousel is winning out especially if they have a bathtub)......do they have in room movies? That just could be the clincher! Also, as we will be getting dropped off and not driving.....if we do happen to arrive early but they won't give us early check-in.....does anyone know if they will (or BWPPI) will store our luggage for us or are we just supposed to sit in the lobby for a few hours with it all until we can check in????

We've stayed at both BWPPI and CI and have enjoyed both places. We've had a std room w/2 queen beds and a 1BR mini suite at the CI and the mini suites at BWPPI. The rooms at both places were very clean and roomy and the location of course is great no matter which one you stay at. Both places have bathtubs and continental breakfasts. We have never had the breakfast at either place so I can't comment on them. We've always picked up from McDonalds because my kids were picky eaters. Both places will let you store your luggage if you check in early. I know that BWPPI will let you do a late check out because we took advantage of that. Both places have a microwave and small refrigerator, which comes in handy. The vanity area is separate from the toilet and bathtub in both places, which also is handy. As far as in room movies, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure about that since we never had much time to watch TV. I would stay at either one of these again.

The key thing with late check out is to request it the night before.... There can be no guarantee but if you ask the night before housekeeping can be asked first thing in the morning and the answer is more likely to be positive if they have a heads up at the start of the day. We requested it the night before then had to call the next morning to be told it was ok. CI allows you to use the breakfast room during the day if your room is not ready or if you have checked out and need someplace to hang out. It is airconditioned, has a TV and overlooks the park so it is a nice place if you have a few hours to kill.

We have stayed at Park Place twice. I like that the room is devided with a half wall Two beds on one side and a couch/tv on the other. When DD was taking a nap it was easier. I don't remember much about breakfast but it did have a bathtub. DD also did not like showers.
