We are going to BCV in Oct with DS2,DD4 and my parents. My parents want DH and I to go out on our own at least one night while they watch the kids. Where would you suggest? I saw the show on the Travel channel about the restaurant at the top of the Contemporary for the fireworks seating. Not sure if DH would care about that though. Any ideas?
Thanks
Suzanne

We had that same opportunity last year for our anniversary. I went over and over the menus and finally decided that Yachtsman Steak house at the Yacht Club best fit our tastes...plus we wanted to be in the Epcot area that night.
We ended up having an amazing meal there and were so glad we chose it. It was a little more pricey than where we would usually eat with our kids, so it was a nice splurge for us. We are even going back for our anniversary this year.

Yachtsmans Steakhouse or Flying Fish. Both are in the BC area and very good. You also might consider Citricos at GF.

In eight years of dining, Citricos is our favorite. It is intimate and the food excellent. Chef Gray is a friendly and professional genius, as is his entire staff.

Will you be using a park-hopper that day? If so, I'd walk over to Epcot for a romantic night around the World Showcase. You could do a nice dinner at Le Cellier in Canada (awesome restaurant, specializes in steaks), and then maybe head over to France for a pastry for dessert.

If you aren't using a park ticket that day, I would walk over to the Boardwalk for a dinner at the Flying Fish Cafe. Great food! Fresh seafood and the best desserts on property, IMO.

Some of my favs would have to be, Marakesh, San Angel, and Artist Point. All very romantic resturants.

DH and I like Artist Point, Flying Fish, Marrakesh, and Le Cellier for grown up meals away from the kids. I'd love to try Shulas but here it is SUPER expensive. Our neighbors ate there for their anniversary and still rave about it 2 years later.

I agree that Yachtsman Steakhouse and Artist Point are excellent choices.
I would also imagine Victoria & Alberts would be a good choice.
I wouldn't go with Restaurant Marrakesh. My wife still smacks me if she thinks I'm looking at the belly dancer. :duck:

My wife and I will be trying Victoria & Alberts for the first time this coming trip, but it won't be too romantic with my MIL at the table! :teeth:

california grill at the contemporary is the restaurant your talking about suzct which has a panaromic view of the seven seas lagoon, magic kingdom & cinderella castle which provides a great view of the mk fireworks each evening.

our favorite restaurants in the parks include cinderella royal table in the castle at mk, the ws restaurants le cellier, le origanle alfredo, les chefs de france, san angel inn, marrakesh at epcot. our favorite resort restaurants include gf's citricos & V&A's, wl's artist point, cali grill at cnt, flying fish at bwi, cape may cafe at yc and akl's boma.

you might want to check out www.allearsnet.com under dining for menu listing for these & other restaurants.

hope you two have a great night alone at wdw!

I'd second Citrico's as being the best choice. The food is incredible, atmosphere romantic, not many kids, and service is top notch. There are a very few tables with a fireworks view as well.

After dinner you could wander to Mizners Lounge and listen to the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra play over cocktails.

They are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so plan appropriately.

Shulas was GREAT! It's only real expensive if you buy a bottle of champagne with the dinner (which was what we did... hey we just got engaged!) but the steaks come "naked" so you need to order your veggies, potatoes, etc seperately. We discovered that one baked potato and one side order of veggies would be plenty for a couple to share- especially if saving room for the Chocolate Soufle.

We just did a dinner at the California Grill which had great food and views of Wishes and the whole MK. It's nearly all tables and no cozy little booths, so for intimate gatherings it might not be the greatest, if you're looking for a little make out time ;-)
