Hi,

I am definitely going to be going to Orlando next October.I had originally planned to go on holiday in August as I had started work as a classroom assistant, but as I'm at home with Mattie at the moment I am no longer working. They have said they will hold the job for me as long as possible which is very supportive of them, but I am going to book my usual time of October and if i get to go back to the school I will have to tell them I have another holiday booked for October (they knew I had a holiday booked for this October before I started the job) Not sure how it will be taken that I have booked another holiday in term-time,then again I may lose that job anyway:(

Well I wanted to make it a two-centre and for the kids to experience another part of America as well.I first thought of New York for about 4 nights then Orlando, but changed my mind.I then thought about Orlando then Las Vegas but seriosly wonder if that isn't too much?? We were going to do a fly-drive to California next August but with recent events this will be 'too' much for Mattie and might be more stressful than enjoyable. I know the two teens would love it in Las Vegas and that way we could see some of the things we would have seen in the original trip,The Grand Canyon,Hoover Dam and the desert. The flight from Orlando to Las Vegas is almost 5 hours .I'm not sure how long the journey from Las Vegas to Gatwick is.

Is it crazy to think about doing a two-centre in two completely different parts of America? I would love any feedback on this as I want to book a fly-drive asap to at least Orlando, before the 11 month out flight only is available and the rest of the availability might get booked. Also the villa I stayed in was so fantastic I want to book it for next year and it might get booked while I am dithering.

Thanks for your time...........help;) !

I don't know much about Las vegas having never been, but on TV Travel Shop they had a deal with 3 nights Las vegas at Circus Circus and 7 nights orlando....I think it was £500 or £550. Which i thought was not bad.

Just thought I'd let you know. :D

Karen have you looked at the Jetlife brochure?

I was looking at it for Nov 03 3 nights New York 4 nights Las Vegas then 7 nights Orlando. The cheapest option was £600. I think there were 3 price ranges each with different hotels.

Unfortunately I have thrown the brochure away. We are doing Orlando 14 nights.

Thanks SM and Val,

It's interesting to know it is offered as an option.I will have to really think about this.

Val,

That deal you mentioned with New York,Las Vegas and Orlando now that would be brilliant and have in it everything I wanted to do.I only threw my Jet Life brochure away last week, sods law! I'll try to get another one and to see if they have an internet site. With this kind of thing I think its best to 'phone them,I'll do that tomorrow.

Thanks to you both again.

Another other opinions?

Why did you change your mind

New York v Las Vegas is a no brainer if you ask me ;)

LV is great, but NY is a must see, one of the greatest cities in the world.

Hi Karen,

I have just came across Jetlife website here: Jetlife

Hope this helps you

Thanks for the site,I couldn't find it even with a search.I'll be having a good look at it now:)

if it was me i would go to Las Vegas, New York was ok but Vegas really was the business. (and a lot cheaper !!!).

Thanks everyone:) I just hate having a choice as I'm not very decisive anymore! I'll let you know what I book:rolleyes:

Orlando and Las Vegas would be fantastic! I have been to Las Vegas 3 times...the last time I got married! Have stayed at Caesars Palace, The Mirage and Bellagio and will happily answer any questions you might have! It's an amazing place! GO!

LOVE Las Vegas and Grand Canyon! That was one of our favorite vacation and we do not even gamble. If you go at the right time (no major convention) and on week days, you can get excellent deals. We stayed at Venetian for $129 for 2 queen beds suites. The Bellagio was also offering $129 at the time too. We visited every hotel on the strip with our kids then 5 and 7. There were even trams connecting the hotels so they thought they were riding monorails like in WDW. :D We plan to go back again when we visit Disneyland-CA and DCA and next time we'll stay at the Mandalay Bay. Love those wave pools.

The drive to Grand Canyon is about 5-6 hours. If you plan to stay in one of the lodges right on the rim, with a view of the canyons, you will also need to book it in advance. The most popular one (forgot it's name now) is booked up almost one year in advance.

Whatever you decide, I am sure you'll have a wonderful time!

Thank you all so much for your advice:p

Well after much discussion we are going to be staying in Orlando for 16 nights!! For various reasons I will have to leave the more adventurous ideas for now, hopefully they might be more feasible the year after.

I have booked the same villa as it was perfect, but won't say 'I've booked!' until I get the flights booked at the end of this month:cool:
