we are coming in on wed Aug 21st and leaving the 25th...we are going to the expo fri and sat and want to do one day at Disneyland...for people that have been before ...how busy will Disneyland be wed and thur before expo and also we are landing at LAX at 7:45am on Wed...would it be better to go to Disneyland on Wed since we will be there so early and relax on Thur before the expo or should we go on Thursday....how long will it take to take an uber from LAX to Disneyland on that wed morning?

Thanks

Just a thought: you might want to consider two days for DLR, regardless of crowds -- because SWGE will be open by that time and there will be crowds, Expo or no Expo. 2 days will let you take a bit more time to see both parks (and DCA is really worth seeing, especially Cars Land at sunset and at night). If you could swing 3 days, that is the minimum we suggest here to see DLR, if you want to get a good look at the parks. We don't know yet how long it will take to get into, look at, ride something/anything in SWGE, so that could take up a significant chunk of your one day in DL. Wednesdays are generally good days, especially the morning hours. If you could be at the parks for RD on Thursday, that would give you some great time to get a lot done, too. Are you staying on site? That would give you one hour early entry to DL on Thursday. MP would help you get more done in the parks, too. Generally, past Expos haven't really increased the park crowds during the event, although attendees do visit the parks in the evenings. I don't know about the days before and after the event this year because SWGE is an unknown factor. At the last Expo, we all got to see the fabulous model and hear all the tantalizing news about the new land. Now that land will be open and all the D23 people will want to see it for themselves. Also, Deluxe APs are allowed back into DL that week after having been blocked since mid-June -- I think this is a bigger crowd factor than Expo. All these local APs will want to see SWGE badly, and they will visit DL.

thanks...we did DCA the last time and we really wanted to just hit Disneyland on this trip....we are just wondering if we should space out our time and take a day off before the expo or try to fit in as much as possible due 2 days at disneyland and than do expo

If your trip dates are already set and you can wait a bit before committing to your park dates, see what happens when SWGE opens in June. The crowd levels in DL in June and July should help you decide whether you want to add one more DL day. Also, the weather will play into how much you want to/can get done with all the crowds in the park. If we hit a heat wave, like we have during past Expos, you might not want to spend a full day in DL. Maybe two half days might be enough. You'll read all about the crowds and how DL and the new land deal with them on this board. Just keep in mind that the Deluxe APs will add large numbers to those crowds during Expo week.

thanks so much...will schools already have started since it is the end of August this year? Will that change the crowds during the week?

Some schools will be back in session, but not all. (Southern CA has schools on the traditional, year round, and home school schedules -- so there always seem to be schools that are off when others are on.) Some schools don't go back until later. There is a thread on this forum with the school calendar for most of the districts that affect DLR. And keep in mind that DLR is affected by districts in CA, OR, WA, NV, UT, and AZ.
