We have ressie's for the Dolphin March 23rd through the 30th :goodvibes .. but now were debating on going 2 days earlier and staying at the All Star Sports (the only resort with availibility!) for those two nights and then moving... Here's the thing... If we decide to go two days earlier, that would take out of some of our funds for the rest of the week. So we'd have less money to spend. But, we would have more time, and since we are AP holders, the tickets aren't an issue. So, if you had the option of staying 7 or 9 nights, would you spread out your funds to stay the extra time? Or would you want all that money to go twords the 7 regular nights? :confused3 Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello
if you can get a great deal on the room at allstar for the 2 extra days then I would do it if not I would do what I planned. If this helps. Also I would see if can get any deals from the 407-WDW-Disney reps sometimes they can well work magic for you. :earseek: :earboy2:

we were originally staying at WDW for 10 nights and I've changed my flights to two days earlier so we can stay 12... original plan was 10 nights at POFQ - now it's 4 at All-Stars + 8 at the moderate to offset *some* of the extra cost. Also we've decided to live off beans and toast for some of our stay... well, not quite beans and toast, some days it will just be beans :rotfl2: but definitely going to watch the pennies. Who knows when we'll get back to WDW again? I prefer the longer stay! Have fun.

I would go fo the longer stay. Even if you just use afew days resting around the pool to rest up would be better then not being there! :)

I guess I'm in the minority. I'd stay at the Dolphin for 7 nights. We have stayed there, and loved it. We found that because we spent so much less time on transportation, we were able to get more done in fewer days. Since you are going to be there during Easter, you will appreciate being able to walk to Epcot (10 minutes) and boat to MGM. During busy times, the bus goes to MK right after picking up at the Dolphin. Bus service to MK is great--one every 5-10 minutes. You also will probably be more inclined to take a break from the parks in the afternoon when they get packed if you are close to 2 parks. The Boardwalk nightlife if fun, and the Dolphin is definitely a deluxe resort.

If we had a choice of 7 nights vs. 9 - it would be 9 hands down! And it wouldn't matter where I stayed! (You'll love the Dolphin location - it's my DHs favorite.)

If you add 2 nights at AS, and stay there the entire time you'd be saving a bunch - wouldn't that offset the cost difference and you'd still have the same amount to spend? Wouldn't you get 2 nights at AS for the cost of one night at the Dolphin or less? If so, then you'd be able to have the extra days and still eat even more! :)

I think though, I agree with swilphil: It is going to be very crowded (if it's the 2 weeks bordering Easter week) and it will be fabulous to be at an EPCOT resort. You can walk or boat to either EPCOT or MGM (depending on the ages of the munchkins, if any) and so I'd go with the 7 nights. Unlike some DISer's I am ready to go home after 7 full nights. ;)

Have a magical trip!

Hey Tink,

I would stay at Disney as long as it was financially possible. Consider moving from the Dolphin to a lower priced resort like a moderate. I have stayed at the Swan and in my opinion it was way overpriced. The theme and colors were not my taste. I'm sure with the AP rates you might even get the Wildnerness Lodge at a lower rate than the Dolphin. Dolphin and Swan are way overpriced. The room I stayed in at the Swan needed refurbishment and the food and drink charges were high. You really have to ask yourself how much time are you going to spend at the resort. True, Swan and Dolphin both have location, location, location but my last trip in January I used the Disney buses and was very happy with them. Good Luck and have a GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Id go with the 9 - especially since you have the APs and could come & go as you wish

Our Aug vacation started out at 9nights (3 WL, 6 BCV) but then I added on 5 nights at the beginning (at Pop)

We booked the extra 2 nights at ASSp!! :cool1:  :cool1:  Thanks for all your input and have fun on all your trips!!!
