Advice for hot and or rainy days at Aquatica?

So this is kind of a newb question, but I'll ask it anyway.

At EIGHT days out cool1 I'm looking at the extended weather forecast and saying "whoo-whee, that's hot". I know, I am just a genius. (What can I say, theoretical heat sounds more manageable than actual, forecast heat.)

What happens at Aquatica when it's really hot? Like, 34C hot. (90s F I guess.) Is it miserably crowded? Or is it too hot to walk around and enjoy stuff? Or maybe it's just the perfect way to beat the heat? (Though I imagine we'll be climbing the stairs to Tassie's Twisters pretty slowly...)

What happens if it rains? Does anything shut down? ('Cause, you know, you're already wet. Told you I'm a genius. ) Or are things operational until the lightning starts?

Maybe we just plan to sit in the wave pool or Roa's Rapids all day?

It has been busy there but the summer rush is almost at an end, so while it will probably be busy it won't be horrible. There will be a wait for the rides.

If it is just raining the park will operate as normal, especially if it is just a mild rain. If it starts to rain harder they will pull people out of the water but it generally has to rain hard. If it starts to lightening anywhere in the area, they will definitely pull people out. Unfortunately summer, lightening, and Florida all go together.

I can't believe your trip is almost here!!!! You must be getting sooo excited!

Our days at Aquatica last August were hot, hot, hot. The 2nd day hotter than the first....easily the low nineties. And sunshiny bright ... with the exception of one day, when a storm moved through right around the noon hour.

They did close all water features as the clouds rolled in. An announcement was made over the PA system and the lifeguards cleared out the masses. We were literally just walking into the Banana Beach buffet as the announcement was made, so we sat and enjoyed our lunch as the skies opened up. Many other folks did the same. As luck would have it, we had just made it back to our cabana after finishing our meal when they reopened the rides.

The afternoons were very, very hot. We arrived at park opening both days, so the guys did all the slides before noon and then again later in the day. They definitely got busier as the day progressed, so doing them early was the best plan. The afternoons, like you surmised, we spent mostly in Roa's Rapids, Loggerhead Lane (the lazy river with the tubes) and the wave pool. The day we had no rain, we also took a mid-afternoon siesta in the cabana. Be sure to pack some water shoes, flip flops or Crocs as the pavement (and even the sand) got really, really hot.

Be sure to secure yourself some loungers when you arrive under one of those big ol' umbrellas so you have a place to chill if you just feel like stretching out . Have an awesome trip!!!!
