Advice for finding cheap flights to the USA (not Orlando)

I have family who are planning to come for a visit us in Chicago in August. Any advice for cheap flights for 2 adults and 1 child? Thanks!

I know BMI fly direct to Chicago from Manchester, they may be one place to look at. Otherwise the US carriers may be cheaper but an indirect flight is likely, going through say NY.
