Hi Everyone
Please can you offer me some advice? I am a first timer planning a trip for 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 10) in May. We hope to have 5 days in the Parks. At this point all the ticket discounts and specials seem to end April 24th. Is there likely to be a new promotional after that? When is the best time to buy tickets before your trip? At this point I'll probably get them through BCAA or Costco. However, I don't want to buy tickets and then find there is some great offer I just missed that could save be a few hundred dollars. HELP please

I was just coming here to post the same exact question for August:

We're also looking at getting 5 day Hopper tickets. I see that right now they have a 5 day for the price of a 3 day, but that it's only good through April 24th.

Do you think that they'll run any other promotion like that for August?

My guess is probably not since summer is high season, but I figured I'd ask your opinions.

Thanks!

Traditionally, DLR does not have any special promotions during the summer. They don't discount their resort rooms, either. They have a pretty easy time filling the parks for full price during school vacation time.

The last couple years, they have had last-minute AP rates appear for mid-late August at their hotels, but that's the only "deals" I have seen during the summer period.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I figured. Still can't wait to hit DL for the first time!

I just called the DLR main ticket booth to ask about tickets for May because we want to get a 7 day pass and those are not listed on the website anymore (the 7 for 5 day pass won't work since it's only valid through 4/24). The 7 day tickets are available through Walt Disney Travel but I don't know why they aren't shown on the Disneyland.com website and the 2 CMs I spoke to don't know why either. It just seems odd that they wouldn't allow purchase of these online as they do the 5 or less day passes.

Would you mind sharing (if you have the info) the Park Hopper prices (thru Disney Travel) for:

- 5 Day.
- 6 Day.
- 7 Day.

(I suspect the 6 & 7 day tickets are relative values, but danged if Disney wants us to know this. :))

This has come up several times recently & I agree with you.....they should just post the prices on the DLR website.

Thanks. :hippie:

Anyone have any idea about the May tickets though? Its not peak season yet...

I'm going in May and they had discounted tickets (slight, but still) on the website which the CM offered and I got when making my GC reservations. 4 day park hopper.

Not sure, but I'm guessing those are the normally discounted advance purchase tickets that are available year round. The discount is off of the regular gate price.

We've gone several times in early May and never have had any special deals on tickets. Every year the discounted deal ends at the end of April.

But, the good news is that once the specials end, so do the crowds. Crowds tend to swell in April, especially at the end, due both to spring breaks, and to families taking advantage of the discounted tickets.

You may pay more for your tickets, but you will enjoy a less crowded park by going in May! That's our favorite time of year.

Have a great trip! :wizard:

I'm also spending 3 days in May at the parks and was hoping to hear there would be a great deal on tickets, but I think I'd rather hear there were less crowds! I've experienced Disneyland during Spring Break where you literally had to push your way through the crowds, and honestly, I'd rather pay more for less people.

I didn't get per ticket prices but 7 day passes for 3 adults and 2 kids came to $965. (The CM said the 8 day tickets were the same price.) As I recall, when I was pricing last week and could see the 6, 7 and 8 day tickets, the prices were within about $15 of each other. Of course I didn't think to write them down not realizing they'd disappear from the websites. :confused3

FWIW, I spoke to someone at Alaska Airline's reservations since that's most likely how we'll book our travel. I asked about the 6 and 7 day passes as well as 5 day that isn't the special 5 for 3 offer since it's scheduled to end on 4/24. She said that offer will be extended through the end of the year. I don't see any mention of that on the website so I'll admit I'm not counting on it but it's worth checking into.

We are also going in May and I bought my tickets from getawaytoday.com. We got 4 day hoppers with 2 magic mornings.I bought an Adult and Child ticket and it was $338.00 They are only a few dollars cheaper than the 4 day hoppers on the DL website but they have 2 MM days instead of 1 (plus you pay a 10.00 ticket only processing fee but its only a 1time fee not 10.00 per person).

Costco sells a Play for 4 Day ticket on their website for 139.00 -but its not a hopper ticket. If you know someone in California that can go to Costco and buy it then its a good deal. I've used it several times and they never have ask for ID at Guest Relations where you exchange the Costco Voucher for the DL Resort tickets. They may ask for ID at the turnstile after your first use but that is just to verify that it's your ticket.

Does anyone know if they have have ticket deals the end of October? I'm thinking of getting a 5 day pass as it's only a few bucks more than the 4 day. At this point, I'll probably use getawaytoday because of the 2 MM's.

Also, if I get tickets from getawaytoday, do I get actual tickets? Or do I get vouchers I have to turn into tickets somewhere? I've only gone to WDW and always have my tickets in hand when I get there as Ticketmania and Undercovertourist sell the "actual" tickets.

If purchasing through getawaytoday, use coupon/promotion code "podcast" to save $10. That'll take out the $10 processing fee. We need to get our kids parkhoppers for our Aug trip and are debating between getawaytoday and aaa. 2 mm won't do us any good since dh and i have aps and we are staying offsite. With aaa, we'd get free parking if we decide to drive one of the days rather than walk.

I believe they only have ticket deals during Jan-May. The fall promos tend to be stay 3 nights get the 4th night free at the DLR hotels.

Our last DL ticket/hotel purchase through getaway was in 2004. Then, it was a voucher you needed to redeem at the ticket booths. I think that they now just send you a receipt and you just go to the ticket booth/guest services and show them your ID. It should be waiting for you there.
