Advice appreciated! 2 Day Magic Kingdom park plan Genie+ 2 adults 2 kids, 6 and 9!! 😊

Firstly - awesome advice on my first thread here at DB! I was able to properly buy, plan and reserve everything (with lots of work and learning, but you know how it goes)!

I am down to planning the itinerary for Magic Kingdom. I have 2 full days, with Genie+. Ive read many blogs/posts but so far none seem to keep it simple enough (straight up timeline with Genie+, maps etc) annd seem to vary greatly. I believe Epcot and Animal Kingdom are fine, I have a day each for those, and 2 days for Hollywood Studios.

If anyone has a good link, or thread, or copypasta or ANYTHING that they think would help, I am just planning how to navigate MK! I have dining at BOG one day and CMT on the second. The rest is open to suggestion.

Will you be using WDW resort guest early theme park entry? If so, will you be rope dropping? These answers will impact where you start (Fantasyland and Tomorrowland open with ETPE while the other lands open with regular park entry) and which attraction you should head to first. Another question is, assuming you want to ride 7DMT, are you OK with paying for it or do you need a strategy to avoid a long standby line.

I can't offer a true touring plan but rather an approach. Once you have decided how to handle the above questions, you'll know where you are starting. You would then make a list of the attractions you want that typically involve lines and figure out what your 7am genie+ pull should be. You would pin that ride and maybe one other popular priority to your tip board so they are right at the top when you refresh. Once you book a ride, edit "my day" to remove the ride you got a LL for and pin the next ride or two to the top for when you are eligible. Between LL reservations fill in with shows, cavalcades, snacks and low wait attractions near/between the rides. With a second day at MK, you will have another opportunity to focus on harder to get LL- that takes some pressure off.

Have you watched any of the YouTube videos from all ears? That channel has 3 videos you might find useful that have been released in the last few months. They are, the perfect morning I'm at Magic Kingdom, getting every lightning lane in one day at magic kingdom, and the perfect day at magic kingdom.

I don't think anybody can give you a complete point by point itinerary because we don't know your family and what attractions matter to you, and which ones don't. Also, With genie plus The fluctuation of crowds from day-to-day can have a real big impact on how how fast the genie plus goes. So it's a bit hard for people to predict with high rate of accuracy to help build itineraries. Flexibility is key here. That and refreshing and fiddling.

If you have 2 days, and have genie plus, on the 1st day I would prioritize jungle cruise as your 1st LL and the 2nd day Peter Pan's flight. Or switch. I also suggest rope dropping. You can either go for one big attraction 1st thing in the morning like space mountain and try to get it done without genie plus, or you can use that time to knock out a bunch of smaller rides that might have longer lines later in the day. For example using this time to do the Winnie the Poo ride and possibly Aerials Under Sea Adventure. By the time you were done with those, the park should probably be opening and you might be able to pop over to pirates with almost no wait. If you bought a lightning lane for 7 dwarfs and have a genie plus 4 jungle cruise, that's 5 rides out of the way.

I am staying offsite so I will not have early access. I am staying around 5 minutes away, and will be getting to the parking lot about an hour before regular open. I have to learn how to use Genie+ effectively! I am reading the threads, and will check out the links, thnx!

Even staying off site, rope dropping MK can still be helpful. Because during early morning the only area's open are TL and FL. If you make sure you are there when the park opens to regular guests, then you will have the same 1st morning access to everything on the left side of the park as anybody with early entry. 1st thing in the morning, you should still be able to get HM done, and then quickly get on Pirates with minimal waits for both.

Oddly enough, we also have two kids the same age as yours and will be going to MK, though we only have one day there so I'll be trying to pack in as much as possible. Take a look at the thread link posted above where I laid out my ideas and let me know if you have any questions.

The one thing I can't stress enough is that genie+ makes pre-planning like this very prohibitive. So for me, my plans aren't really plans, but more of a framework for how to book LLs while keeping in mind the lands where they're located. Avoiding zigzagging is basically impossible, so we'll be doing a ton of walking compared to previous years. You have have two days there so you'll have a lot more flexibility than us.

I don't have experience with the whole park-TTC-MK thing in the morning, but I have heard this more than once:
The usual choices to get from the TTC to MK are monorail and boat. However, on busy mornings they sometimes run a bus service that is overlooked by many and can be quicker/less crowded. If transportation waits get long, ask a CM if there are buses running

I agree with KrzyKtty101 that you can achieve more while waiting for your first LL if you RD Adventureland/HM as lines in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will already be growing due to ETPE people (AND some RDers will head straight to BTMRR).

If PP and JC are important to your group, you will have to give some thought to how to ride them with low waits. You might score LLs with refreshing during the day. Some book them as first genie+ to beat availability disappearing- but you could have a late return time that keeps you out of LLs until 2 hours after park open. We preferred to start with morning Genie+ LL and use the LLs continually best we could. (We were lucky enough to score a not-far-out JC while refreshing. We RDed PP using ETPE on our second MK day since we didn't get a LL on the first.)

If you're staying off-site, you will likely miss out on booking 7DMT unless you're super diligent about refreshing throughout the day. Head over to thrill data to get a rough idea of how soon availability for each ride runs out throughout the day. Their charts and graphs are critical to get a feel for genie+ availability.

It was so much easier to plan park days in detail back when Fastpass+ was still in effect. Like you, I've been reading and researching as much as possible to figure out the best way to strategize using Genie+ but honestly I just think there's not much you can to do plan in advance. Know how to use and navigate the system ahead of time, realize you're going to have to go with the flow to some extent, and make use of any perks you may get if you are staying on-site or happen to be staying dvc/deluxe.

I have spent countless hours sorting through the data on that site. It's been so crucial in helping me prepare for my trip. And make sure you understand the 2-hour rule or sometimes referred to as "stacking" to get an idea of how to book most of the high-demand rides like JC, PP, space, splash, etc.

You should also check out touring plans where you can practice creating an itinerary for your days to get a rough idea of walking distances from one land to the next. Those two sites (and disboards!) have been incredibly helpful for me.

You can look for this as possibly a consistent pattern on thrilldata...

We saw 7DMT lines drop drastically by the beginning of the fireworks BUT go back up before the fireworks were over. (We were in the area because we rode AstroOrbiter during the fireworks and then headed to no-wait Pooh )
