Adventures Down Under take on the World!!!

Now it is time to put it all down on virtual paper and and don't leave out a photo. We are all Disney addicts and need our fix. :hippie: :surfweb:

Wow it looks like I have started reading this thread at just the right time. I can't wait to see how it all turned out. As a fellow Australian I hope you had the best time in the world because I plan on taking the massive journey next year.

Hi ALL

Sorry for the extended delay. I know it has been a while. When we arrive home we were blessed with the exciting news that we bought back our own little disney souvenier with us... I am now 10 weeks pregnant and we had our first ultrasound last night and i saw the heartbeat and my little blob.

I also went back to school 4 days after we got back so it has been so hectic i havent written anything. I am having problems getting up photos aswell but i promise i will start soon.

We got the photopass cd yesterday and i am so happy with the pictures!!!!

talk soon
Jess

Ok so here is my first attempt at posting a picture. i hope it works

Pictures are great. I hope you are excited about your souvenir! :cloud9:  I am so happy for you. :flower3:

Wow what a bit of pixiedust will do when least expected. Now you will have another excuse to go back (as if you really need one). We started taking our DGD at 2 years old and she really loved it. I know most people think that it might be too early for them to really remember it but that is not true. She remembered and talked about the trip nonstop to anyone who would listen. Anyway, congratulations and am looking forward to the rest of your report.

Congratulations Jess and Murray:banana:

It is fantastic news that you have your special souvenier,(although I do believe you did bring home more than enough souveniers without little Mickey or Minnie:rotfl: )

Looking forward to reading all about your trip.

Now when is the next trip:rolleyes1

Take care
Gab

CONGRATULATIONS!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

That is so exciting! I can't wait to hear about your trip, the pictures you posted are great.

Congratulations on the wonderful news!!! Between the "little souvenir" and your classes, I can only imagine how busy you must have been. The pics you've posted so far are great.

I can't wait to hear all about your trip, especially since I've never been to Disneyland or on one of their cruises. I'm sure your report of it all is going to be amazing! :goodvibes

Day 1 PART 1 2nd January 2008 Arriving at POP

Well. I am finally starting this trip report. I can’t believe it has taken me this long!!! I decided to begin with our time at WDW. I will post about our adventures at Universal later.:thumbsup2

We were picked up from the Fairfield Inn and Suites at around 10:30 am and were taken to our grocery stop at PUBLIX. We got some essentials and then were on our way to POP!!!!! When we arrived at POP, Murray was surprised how big the place actually was. He hadn’t looked at a single photo of the place when we booked so I think he was a little blown away. We checked in around 11:30 and our room was ready!!! Here are a few photos from our time at POP. I have about 100 but I thought I would just add a few.:yay:

Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Disney gave us this beautiful card signed by Mickey and Minnie with a bunch of balloons. It was such a nice surprise!

We were in the 70’s building near the big wheel bike and the mickey phone. We were on the third level and I loved the location. We quickly went to Everything pop and bought our refill mug (so worth the money).
Ok…so after much talk about the famous cheesecake at Everything Pop I decided it was a must for me. It was absolutely delicious….until the next day. This maybe a little too much information but see the green layer, that what I saw the next morning when I went to the toilet!!!! For these reasons I only ate it once, but it was soooooo good!:thumbsup2

A friend of mine from 2000 when I worked at Disney was coming to see us today and she took us to Reptile World Serpentarium (snake place). Ok….Please note-this was the only 3 hours that Murray was able to do his thing during our 2 week stay at WDW! (hahahhaha) We saw some great snakes and other animals.

We then did murray’s other activity which was to visit a HOME DEPOT…..Ok I hear you all saying who pays $6000 to fly to Orlando to visit home depot. We don’t have them in Australia and that is all he wanted to do.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Heather then took us back to POP and we got ready for a night at Downtown Disney.

Up next…..Our freezing night at DOWNTOWN DISNEY and dinner at Planet Hollywood.

Day 1 Part 2 2nd January 2008

After having showers and getting ready we headed to the bus stop. The bus came within 5 mins and it was a quick and easy trip to DTD. Tonight was a freak cold snap in Orlando I think it was around 20 degrees. I have never been so cold in my life. We explored the stores and I was so excited. I loved all the scrapbooking things, the Art of Disney was amazing and I wished I had money to spend!!!!!

I spent a while in the Christmas store and took about 100 photos. I didn’t make any purchases tonight because I figured I was there for 2 weeks I should wait until I have seen all there is to offer before I went crazy (don’t worry I still went completely crazy). I went to goofy’s Kitchen an had this thing made. I was surprised to find it was part of the DDP as a snack credit…. (I absolutely loved the DDP...but more on that later)

By now it was even colder. We walked around to Planet hollywood and we relieved to be ourt of the cold. We decided that since we had the discount voucher, we may aswell use it. I had read bad reviews on the boards about Planet holllywood, but we only have good things to say.

It was freezing!!!!

We had no reservation but were seated within 5 mins. The restaurant was very busy but our food came very quickly. I ordered the LA Lasange. It was amazing.

Murray got half a chicken with potatoes and veggies. He also enjoyed his meal.

We decided to get an early night as were were starting at AK early tomorrow.

Up next…. The coldest start to a Disney vacation ever…. Where are all the animals???

Congrats Jess on the souvenier!!

Also great to see the trip report - great to hear tales for another Aussie!!

When my DH and I went we had the warmest weeks and I know that the day after we left they experienced the coldest snap ever. I'm sorry you had to be there during that time, but it seems like you were really enjoying yourselves!

The anniversary card was awesome! What a great keepsake. How funny to want to go to a Home Depot, but considering that you have none, it is such a guy thing to visit those places.

I'm really enjoying your report and the pics are great! I can't wait to read more. Your story about the cheesecake was funny. The meals you two had at Planet Hollywood looked great. :thumbsup2

Keep the posts coming! I know it's hard to keep up with them. It took me much longer than I thought it would take, but isn't it fun to share about your experience? I'll keep watching for the next installment. :surfweb:

Did you pick up Mickey head paint chips? :rotfl:
Loved the pictures. Too bad it was cold. :cold: It was cold when we went in Dec 2003. The first time I ever wore long pants at WDW.

Great pictures, I really liked the one from Goofy's Kitchen I think you put everything on that snack :goodvibes . I am glad you are enjoying yourselves even if you did stray away from the world

The cold really wasn't that bad. We didn't let it effect us and it only lasted 2 days anyway. The LA lasange at Planet hollywood was to die for. i am loving reliving the whole thing again:cool1:

Finally some serious writing.
;)
Even though we met up when we were both over there, we haven't really chatted about the little details. I look forward to reading about your adventures.

I better be mentioned when you get to Jan 6th:cool1:

Take care of baby aladdin/jasmine.

Gab

Great pictures and first installment! I wish I had gotten a picture of that Pop sign. We really enjoyed Pop too, we were in the 50's building. Can't wait to read more!

I'd forgotten about your TR!! But, here I am again :)

So glad to hear you had such a magical time. And a big congrats on the souvenir!!

That cheesecake looks awesome, but yeah, dye tends to make it's way out of your body. Makes for a colorful exit! ;)

You took some great photos. I love the one of POP.

I have a friend that is a manager at a Bunnings. How does it compare to Home Depot? I figured it was similar, but probably not as big?

On to the next installment...
