This is the new tour company that Disney's partnered with to provide Disney quality vacations in other places . . . or so that's what I'm to understand. DH is turning 50 in September and we were thinking of taking the Viva Italia tour in Italy with Adventures, but I can't find much out about them other than their web site and the brochure I ordered. These tours are TOP end price so I want to check them out as best I can before we invest the dollars and in our case, some DVC points to "pay" for one of us.

Anybody know anything about it? I think I saw someone post about these trips before but can't find it now.

Have you ordered the brochure yet? I got one a couple weeks ago. The program looks great. What's stopping me (besides the cost - yikes!) is that kids have to be at least 8 for all the destinations except Hawaii where they need to be at least 6. DD is just about to turn 6 and the Hawaii one is not what I'm interested in, so we'll have to put this off for a few years. If I had the chance to do it, I definitely would. Disney is putting it together so you know it will be fantastic.

I caught sight of their costs AFTER I was totally sucked into wanting to go, but I take from the age limitations that these trips are meant for families with "older" children. Both my kids do not met the age requirement for the trips I would be interested in either. I'm thinking though to do any of these trips "Disney style" would be awesome but I really can't see paying the price.

We are willing to pay for Disney atmosphere at Disney but I hightly doubt you can get "the magic" on these vacations abroad. However I do not doubt the quality at all. It'll be interesting to start getting the feedback from these trips.

We got the brochure too & were totally sucked in!!! :woohoo:

But my kids are too young (2 and 5) :sad2:

Today, I got an email from them saying that kids are free: "purchase two adult packages at the regular rate and receive up to two kids packages free. Book by May 31." That definitely made it more affordable. Oh, I only have to wait 4+ more years!

edited so I could subscribe to the thread

DH and I are going on the 9/28 Viva Italia tour! Can't wait. Just wish I could find someone else who's gone before to tell us if it really is worth it.

We are DVC members and used points for one of us and cash for the other and it's STILL expensive, but since it's DH's 50th birthday it's worth it!

If anyone has been on one of these before, please let me know.

I have to say that everyone I have spoken to at Adventures by Disney has CERTAINLY been friendly, but they aren't as organized as you normally expect from something Disney. I'd love to hear from someone who can confirm that despite apparent minor confusion at their office, this should be a trip of a lifetime!

Lizardbeth61 - sorry we haven't gone, but I think it's great that you booked. Please give us an update when you get back!!!

. . . and can't wait to go on another Disney Adventure! It was amazing!!!!! Italy was phenomenal and Disney did a fantastic job of making our trip special. Will post a more thorough trip report, but we're already making plans to take our kids on our next adventure to . . . Wyoming!

Lizardbeth61 - thanks for the update! I will look for your trip report.
