My DW and I will experience the Adventurer’s Club for the first time this December.

My DW isn’t much of a drinker; however she has been known to throw back a couple of strawberry daiquiris on occasion. She prefers drinks where you can’t smell the alcohol in like the daiquiris. Any recommendations on what drink I should order for her at the Adventurer’s Club? :stir:

Thank you for any ideas.

The Kungaloosh. And be prepared to carry her home. ;) OK, they're not that bad, but they are very yummy (and I only like sweet non-alcohol tasting drinks too) and they come in a commerative cup! (Or they did four years ago.)

I second the the Kungaloosh. Very fruity...but they will sneak up on you. Just a friendly tip from my personal experience...DO NOT drink a bunch of them, and then ride Mission Space the next morning...

I remember a couple of times hearing people just tell the bartender something just like you said in your OP and he/she can whip something up according to what you say. I never know what to order and always tell them to just make something up and tell them what I like. They're pretty good about that there.

The Kungaloosh reminded me of Pez candies. But then I was kind of drunk by then already.

Another vote for the Kungaloosh! I really love them, though one is my limit - I'm not much of a drinker and they can be kind of strong, for me. As I recall, they also have a drink that is just mixed fruit juice that is also pretty good.

Plus, the Kungaloosh IS the official drink of the Adenturer's Club, so everyone should experience one at least once! :goodvibes

(Now I'm wondering if anyone else here had to do the hand motions for "Kungaloosh" after reading it so often in this thread - I can't read or say the word without waving my hand around like a crazy person! )

Definitely the Kungaloosh! And make sure you get there early to be 'sworn in' and learn the Club salute! ;)

Non-drinkers here...we stuck to sodas and non-alcoholic drinks but I second this part!!!

This should get you started, let's all sing along shall we:

On our trip in 1991 (I know, ancient history), they were serving a drink called Jungle Juice. It was like a fruit punch with rum added. They sold them at a little table away from the bar so if you only wanted Jungle Juice, you didn't have to wait at the bar. We hung out at the Adventurer's club several nights and I remember it being a blast!

It was not in a commemorative cup in September. But it was very good and I'm a fruity drink, not-much-of-an-alcohol-drinker myself.

Sorry OT, but are kids allowed in the Adventurer's Club? It's always just DS13 and myself, but I've been dying to get there to try it. TIA!

Should be. I was last in The Adventurers Club back in 93 (me 22, DB 19). I remember seeing kids there. TAC was my absolute favorite place to be in PI! I could spend all night in that place alone!!!

OP, sorry I can't offer any drink suggestions. I'm also one who does not drink (never could stand the taste of alcohol). But I do have a little suggestion that you might get a chuckle out of. Check with the bar to see if they can work a little "magic" on the stool that your wife sits on. If they still do this, your DW will slowly start to get closer and closer to the floor before she realizes what happened. I did this to my DB (unbeknownst to him) and my parents and I laughed so hard.

Kungaloosh!

Another vote for the Kungaloosh!!

YUM! They are pretty strong though, but oh so good! :thumbsup2

Another vote for the Kungaloosh. They go down VERY smooth. I had 4 and felt no pain. It was a suprise that I got that drunk from that ( Im pooh sized so I didnt think I would get that drunk but I did) . Also another dont after a night of Kungaloosh, dont go to a very early ADR at Chef Mickey's. Its the worst family photo you will ever take. And when the waitress says you all look like you need some coffee.. you know its bad.

FanOfStitch - Not sure if kids are "allowed", but when we were there in October, there were a couple of kids there under 18. The entertainment/shows are definitely more adult oriented, so be prepared for that.

jisom12 - As for drink suggestions, since I was driving, I stuck to non-alcoholic drinks. My DH had the Hot Chocolate Yakoose Mousse. You can check out their drink menu here.

One word- Kungaloosh!

If it helps, here's the AC drink menu:
(from adventurersclub.net)

The Hoopla!
This crazy concoction of Cruzan Coconut rum, vodka, melon liqueur and pineapple juice is sure to curl the toes of the most hearty adventurers. Named for our nightly extravaganza in the library!
Shout for it by name…HOOPLA!!!
Fletcher Hodges' Fruitsation
Fletcher searched the four corners of the world to locate this most secret recipe of Cruzan orange and pineapple rums mixed with orange juice, pineapple and cranberry. This drink is said to have been favored by the ancient Pharaohs and is rumored to have strange mystical properties.

Pamelia's Punch
This wild mix of Cruzan orange, pineapple and coconut rums mixed with pineapple, cranberry, orange and sour. Pamelia Perkins refers to this as her "presidential punch" and after two she tends to cuddle up to the Yakoose. Cast your vote and order one during the Radiothon.
Bongo's Jungle Juice
Enough to make any man go ape. The tongue tingling flavors of Captain Morgan Original spiced rum, 151 and Cruzan rum along with orange juice and strawberry are served up in one of Fletcher's favorite souvenir mugs (*now a monkey head) This rare specialty drink can only be dared by the bravest adventurers.

Otis T. Wren's Tall Tale
See if you can swallow this questionable mixture of Cruzan coconut rum, peach schnapps and pineapple juice. Our club treasurer swears he wrestled this recipe from the jaws of the rare Makira Marlena. (That's Big Black Fish to you!) Listen as he recounts his tale nightly at the Balderdash Cup in the Library.

Samantha's Passion Potion
Samantha cooked up this potion while in the rain forests of South America. The tropical flavors of Absolut Citron, melon liqueur, raspberry liqueur, pineapple and cranberry are sure to stir the animal inside! Enjoy one during Samantha's Cabaret, but be warned… you might want to sip it.

Hathaway Browne's Banana Bomber
Strap in and hold on as Hathaway takes your taste buds for a thrill filled spin with this legendary libation. Filled with Cruzan banana rum, cranberry juice with a twist of lime. This is one bomber that will send your mouth into a tailspin! Listen for Hathaway to crash land during our Balderdash Cup

Kungaloosh
Spot your fellow adventurers by tipping a glass of this frozen concoction made with Captain Morgan Original spiced rum, blackberry brandy liquer, orange and strawberry juices. This is the drink for all visiting adventurers during our new member induction ceremony

Hot Chocolate Yakoose Mousse
This tattered recipe of dark crème de Cacao, Bailey's Irish Crème and hot chocolate was found stitched to the bottom of our own Yakoose, back fresh from the upholsterers. We're quite certain this is the reason for his random outbursts, but we have yet to catch him drinking one.

Beezel's Hot Almond Joy
Beezel has a nose for a good drink and while you are visiting our Treasure Room, be sure and try this combination of Cruzan coconut rum, amaretto and hot chocolate. Just don't lose your head over it…

The Colonel's Keoke Coffee
While on safari in deepest Africa, the Colonel stumbled upon this warm blend of dark crème de cacao, brandy and coffee. He says it gives him an ever watchful eye over the Adventurers Club. Won't you join him for a cup? Eyes forward!

Emil's Strawberry Colada
Non-Alcoholic
From the deepest, darkest…Sandusky, Ohio! Emil brought us his grandmother's recipe for this delicious frozen confection This frozen blend of strawberries will keep you refreshed and alert. According to Grandmother Bleehall, it also cures the gout and doubles as a compress for pitchfork related injuries. Order one now! (no liquor)

Babalonia's Brew
Non-Alcoholic
A refreshing mixture of pineapple juice, orange juice, Sprite and a splash of sour mix. Babalonia sips one a day…of course you wouldn't believe the size of the glass!

Wow, thanks for the great replies and the overwhelming support for the Kungaloosh.

CDN Friends of Pooh & WDW Poly Princess, thank you for the drink menu. I didn't realize there were so many choices.

Sounds like my DW will like the Kungaloosh (or two?!?). I might try one of the warmer drinks - Hot Chocolate Yakoose Mousse or The Colonel's Keoke Coffee, if it's chilly outside. :drinking1

Then after enjoying the evening, we only need to walk (er stumble) :lmao: back to Saratoga Springs.

We might even have to take the courtesy boat back. :boat:

Remember that a kungaloosh is not really a kungaloosh unless it has whipped cream on top. When they offer it, say yes. Also remember to keep an eye on the yakoose hanging on the wall... :)

BTW, the last of the commemorative AC glasses disappeared a couple years ago. Still hoping they will eventually introduce another.
