Advantage of magic Bands for a non-park trip?

We have our MBs ready to go....but what advantage do I have in using it? DH and I will be at VWL for 9 nights without park tickets. We have no desire to add them. We will have DVC, TiW, and Disney visa available for discounts. Since there is no way at this point to add these discounts to the MB, and I will need to carry around all the cards anyhow, I'm wondering why I would bother with wearing a MB. I'm not against wearing one, but prefer to not wear anything on my wrist, I use my phone for a watch. At this point I think I will just get the RFID card and keep it with all the others I will need to carry around and leave the MB in the room. Thoughts?

We just returned from a non-park trip. We had MBs in hand before travel -- but quickly found them painful to wear. We requested a room key and found that much nicer. The roomkey lies flat in one's pocket and never bruises the wristbones!

Shouldn't be any need for them if you don't want to use them for charging or entering your room. And if you were to enter a park the RFID cards can be used for that too once it's activated to your MDE account and if you had your tickets linked to your MDE account also.

That's another concern of mine. I have a really small wrist, and the overlap on the band is not comfortable. It fits so that I have one hole in the adult band and one in the kids. It can fit with both in the kids, but it's a little tight.....

We will charge to our room, but will take advantage of our discounts with the other cards, so I might as well pull out the KTTW card with the others. Though it's convenient to have it out when you walk up I found it uncomfortable to try and twist around to place it correctly on the reader so when my Magic Band was working for the door (and it didn't at one resort) I tended to take it off anyway to open the door.

Advantage: Pool use. The Magic Bands are waterproof, so you can just wear them in the pool and not worry about where you've left your room key.

This is exactly what I was thinking as well. I see the bands as being very useful for the pool.

Thats the beauty of disney, you don't have to use the magic bands if you don't like them. I just think they're cool.

I think they are very convenient for not having to dig out your card when you get to your room. Going to the pool is nice, no card to leave with your towel/stuff. Paying is nice, now when we used them last we didnt own DVC to get a discount on stuff. It would be nice if they could put things like that on it, maybe some day!

If you have a very small wrist, just cut it in the places provided for the children's bands. I found I could just barely get it to fit in the children's sizing, so that's what I did.

I loved using the bands for a room key. So much easier than having to remember the key, and really convenient when you go to the pool, since you can leave it on and not have to worry about where to put your key. I would have loved it if we could have had these at Aulani last year.
