Taking my DGD2 on her first trip in November and was planning on doing the length of stay stroller rental. I saw it mentioned on another thread that you can call ahead and reserve it. That's the first time I've heard that and wondered if you all know the details. Phone number to call? Do they send you a voucher or something? Exactly how does it work? Thanks!

Bumping this up...I would like to hear about this also. We will be there for 10 days and will need a double stroller for each day. This would really help us a lot.

I have never heard this before and I have lots of guide books and do a lot of reading on the boards. I'm curious to see if anyone can confirm.

I am not sure if Disney does this, but you might want to check out http://www.abbf.com (A baby's best Friend).

They offer free delivery to resorts of different items including strollers. Stroller is $55/week and DoubleStroller is $75/week.

I have never used them, but had seen pretty good reviews in the past from this board. You might want to do a search on the board to see if anyone else has recent reviews from abbf.

I'd like to know this too. I knew about the length of stay stroller rental, but don't know if you can reserve them ahead of time or not. Another question: if you can't call ahead, could you do it at the resort when you check in?

I'll answer :)

I did it. It's not an advanced reservation. The first day of your park visit, you simply go to the stroller rental cashier as you normally would. Tell them you want to rent the stroller for x number of days. They will give you your receipt with "stroller rental pass" tickets attached. Then take the ticket/receipt pack to the counter where they pass out the strollers. They will stamp the date on one of the ticket. Then, the next day you go to the counter with your tickets, and skip the cashier. (The cashier line is the line that is the longest as people are waiting to pay.) You can just go get your stroller right away, rather than waiting for paying. Also if you park hop, you simply show them your receipt as you normally would do.

There is also a discount. I got a $2.00 discount per day - I don't think it was supposed to be that much - but I didn't complain.

Personally, I prefer the Disney strollers over any store brand stroller that ABBF could rent you for two reasons:

1 - With a non-WDW rental stroller or your own, you are lugging around the stroller from bus to monorail to boat to turnstile, etc. You simply get your WDW stroller and you're off - no hassles before you even get to the turnstiles

2 - The WDW rental strollers are AWESOME. They are industrial strength. They are really really really easy to push - especially a bigger kid - around in. For a baby it may make no difference to push them around in a Graco-type stroller. However, for a kid that weighs over 30 pounds it makes a HUGE difference. The gears/bearing or whatever are in the wheels allow you to push the stroller with NO effort. I was able to push it with one finger.

Hi,

I'm from Cali, does anyone know if the DW strollers are like the DL strollers?
My almost 5 year old is 40 lbs and she has outgrown her strollers. The DL strollers huge and easily accomodate her.

Thanks,
Cheryl

ITA with the fact that they're easier for bigger kids. My dd will be turning 6 while we're there. We just started renting the WDW strollers when she turned 5 in Dec. last year. The other stroller was just too heavy with her in it, and her feet would drag the ground now! That being said, even though she's an older child, there's no way she would last walking around WDW all day long. The rental strollers are the perfect solution. I'll definately be doing the length of stay rental while we're there!

I've also seen bigger kids in the double strollers. Yes, they are more expensive, but for a bigger kid it's worth it (IMO) :)

We will be at WDW for 9 days, but we'll only need the double stroller for 6 of those days. (The other 3 days will be our much-needed days of rest). Is it okay to walk up and request the amount of days that you need, or are they super-picky that it HAS to be for the amount of time that you're actually booked? Thanks!

Just wanted to say that I love those WDW strollers too. Last trip...one son was 45 pounds, the other son was 20 pounds, and the WDW double worked great!! My sons will be 50 and 30 pounds next trip and I will be getting another double for our length of stay.

I didn't have to tell them dates I needed the stroller, just the number of days. The tickets are not stamped with the dates beforehand. So yes, you can just get 6 days if you want.

Here's some pics: http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/strol_faq.htm - scroll about halfway down for links to pics. The MGM are more like jogger strollers, but still very good.

The strollers at MGM are like the DL strollers. The rest of the parks are plastic. However, I think that your DD will fit in them just fine. They are designed to hold bigger kids as well. I want to say they have a 60lb weight limit.

One more thing I wanted to add about the strollers. There is about a 4-5 inch ledge behind the child's head in the strollers (not the MGM one). We rolled up a towel and my DD used it as a pillow and slept using that.
