Welcome! :flower3:

Mmmm, I love Kona. I think it's sooo underrated.

I agree!

Love the steak at Kona, the whole dish is super yummy. I love the Poly!

I love it too, and wish to stay there one day. :goodvibes

That pan-fried noodle dish looks delicious (not to mention the creme brulee!), I might have to try Kona!!

I highly recommend it!

Joining in! That all looked fabulous!! I haven't eaten at Kona in awhile, and looking at those pics makes me want to eat there now! Keep em coming!:thumbsup2

1900 Park Faire coming up next!

I love the Kona, and will be eating that steak in just a few days. Can't wait to read more.

Thanks for joining me!

We love Kona. Sadly we will be skipping it next trip in order to try some new places (usually stay in MK area but this trip epcot area)

I know...I go back December 2010 and sadly will probably be skipping it so I can try some other places as well.

Looks yummy!

:goodvibes

Is that a pic of the plate after she already ate half of it? If that is the portion before eating, it looks skimpy.

Why don't you eat seafood?

I don't like the taste of seafood.
And yes, that was before she ate anything.

Thanks for all the awesome pics. We have reservations at Kona next month. I looked over the kids menu in allears and was confused. There was a platter with "five" food groups or a 3-course menu for kids. How does the kids menu works? Could you substitute the fruit salad for the sundae (and do they bring it all out at the same time)?

Here's what I've found...on every kid's menu, there seemed to be two meals that were "3 course" which included the entree and 2 sides. I think these are considered their perfectly balanced meals. Then there's another section with choice of one appetizer which is a soup or salad usually, the entree (hot dog, hamburger, etc), and then one dessert. You also could request fries with the entree for no extra cost. At almost every place I mixed the items up. Instead of the 2 sides that came with the 3 course, I would get only one so she could also get dessert. We never ran into any problems at all with any servers.

Joining in! Thanks for the KONA review, we will be eating there for the first time this Thursday I am looking forward to trying it out! :goodvibes

I hope you enjoy it tomorrow!

This was my first experience with a character meal with a child, and let me just say....AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

It was complete chaos for me. I'm not even sure that I ate that much, or my dd, but the character interaction was GREAT!

Here are a few pictures that kind of have food in them. I was too crazy with trying to get pictures of dd and getting the autographs.

I do remember eating the french toast. It was pretty good. Dd ate yogurt, strawberries, bacon, so I am assuming they were good! I probably would have got a made to order omelette if I had time. The potatoes would have been good if they were warm.

This was a great character meal for the interaction. All of the characters came around 2-3 times each so I got tons of great pictures.

I would definitely do the breakfast here again if my dd is still into these characters!

That steak at Kona looks awesome, I've never thought to order that there...

That look on your dd's face while Mary Poppins is signing her autograph is priceless.

Thanks for the review....

Hi everyone! I'm the cousin that was with Devonsmommy for this free dining experience :) Kona was one of my favorite meals during our stay. The creme brulee' was the BEST dessert by far this trip :thumbsup2 I will definately be eating at Kona again. Since I left DH and my 2 DD's at home, I could actually eat like a normal person at the character breakfasts :rotfl: I really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare. We ate there on our last trip in March too. The character interaction was great in March, but seemed even better this time. I had an assortment of food-french toast, biscuits and gravy, fruit, bacon...I'm sure I'm leaving a few things out :confused3 I thought is was all very good:thumbsup2

Character breakfasts are definitely hectic, but you can't beat the time with the characters! The look on your DD's face when Mary Poppins was at your table is adorable.. what great memories!

Enjoying your trip. I'm joining the fun. Looking forward to you next installment. :cheer2:

I was so excited to finally snag a lunch at CRT. I didn't want to "waste" my morning sitting at a meal when I could be hitting rides, and I wasn't thrilled with the setup of the dinner. Dd really wanted to see the princesses.

Here she is getting her wishing star:

This is the standard appetizer plate:

My mom ordered the Focaccia Sandwich - ham, turkey, and muenster cheese piled high on focaccia bread, with dijonaise complimented with house-made sweet potato chips. She didn't love this sandwich. It was basically just a sandwich!
119-1.jpg

My cousin and I ordered this heaven on a plate! Major Domo's Favorite Pie - shredded beef simmered in rich cabernet sauce, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables, crowning a light pastry. It was SOOOOOO GOOD! I ate every last bite of it.
121-1.jpg

And here is dd's meal...I think it was chicken fingers, green beans and chicken noodle soup.
120-1.jpg

Dessert here was very good too!
Chocolate cream cheese buckle:

And dd got a special dessert because it was her first trip (in addition to the ice cream!)

I would definitely eat here again, and probably for lunch again. We paid OOP for this even though we were on the dining plan.

Great reviews - thanks for posting
We are eating at Kona for the first time in March and we're really excited :cool1:

For some reason I don't have any pictures from here! It could be that there was so much food on the table I just didn't have time! But I do remember the food, so I will comment on it.

I was really looking forward to eating here. Everything just looked so good in everyone else's reviews.

The bread was delicious.
The salad was good.
I absolutely LOVED the wings and noodles. The broccoli was your basic broccoli, and the meat was very good.

The dessert was FANTASTIC!!!

I also was excited to eat here because I've heard/read rave reviews.

We had hit AK at rope drop and were starving for lunch. Our ADR was 12:05 p.m. and we were there right on time. As soon as we sat down inside, a MONSOON rain hit! It was great timing for us to be inside. I noticed there were tons of empty tables.

The theming in this restaurant is awesome!

DD ordered the chicken nuggets with fried rice and applesauce.
194.jpg

They were your basic nuggets.

I ordered the ribs. I was so up in the air and couldn't decide!
196.jpg

I got them with french fries and fried rice. They were SOOOOO good! I ate every last one.

My mom and cousin both went with the Crispy Mahi Mahi - filet of mahi mahi, Japanese bread crumbs, Cantonese sweet and sour sauce, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables $21.99
197.jpg

They both thought this was VERY GOOD!

For dessert I tried the Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle $7.99
198.jpg

These were DELICIOUS! Very light and the perfect ending to this meal.

Mom had the Mango Pie - shortbread cookie crust, fresh whipped cream, raspberry sauce $6.99
199.jpg

I can't remember her review of this, but I'm sure it was good!

Overall we were very pleased with everything here and would definitely come back again.

A must do for me is WPE. Dh and I ate here 3 times on our visit in 2008! There are too may good things to pick from!

My cousin had the Spicy Chicken - all natural chicken, roasted red and yellow peppers, mozzarella, tomoatoes, leeks, crushed red chilis and fresh cilantro $11.95.
213.jpg

This pizza is so good! It has a little kick to it because of the crushed red chilis, but the flavors are just fabulous!

Mom had the Chinois (Shin-wah) Chicken - roasted all natural chicken breast, fresh Asian vegetables and cripsy wontons, dressed with Honey Mustard $10.95
214.jpg

I feel a little guilty...I told her how awesome this salad must be because I've read so may great reviews about it and it seemed very popular. She did not like it at all! I'm not sure what in partifular. I think she wanted more of a "lettuce" salad and there really wasn't any.

i had the Chicken Caesar - Roasted all-natural chicken breast marinated in Wolfgang's signature seasoning, tossed with crisp romaine, dressed with Caesar, house-made croutons and Grana Padano Parmesan $11.95
215.jpg

it was so hot and humid and this was perfect! The chicken is so tender and there is a perfect amount of dressing.

Dd had the plain cheese kid's pizza.
216.jpg

I think we all had the cookies to go since we were stuffed.

I will definitely be coming here on our next trip!

How yummy! Your pictures and reviews are making really quite hungry! And I just ate lunch! :)
