I decided to dress up this year because I noticed my son had a great time at MNSSHP when we all dressed up. He had a far better time with me dressed up going with him than he did with me in just clothes. The parents liked it too and thought it was cool. There were a few of them dressed up as well.

If an adult or older kid is actually dressing up in a full costume and getting into the spirit of it? I'll give em candy! If it's a teenager with a pillow case and a fake knife stuck into their head giving me attitude when they come up, they can just keep walkin.

I think it's tacky. If you are an adult and want candy, go buy it! Trick or treating is for kids. And there is a point where it stops being trick or treating and just becomes BEGGING!
