Adults sailing without their children...tell me about your trip.

we went without kids for Haloween, we still had costumes, like many other adults did. . We did pretty much the same things but did not spend time waiting to meet characters. We would go to the middle pool, not into the combat zone. Our table was all kidless, two honeymon couples and one other enpty nesters.

We did spend a lot of time in the cocktail lounges. I do not want to offend anyone but, talking to other couples, some of the other brand ships have half the guests in walkers. Kids are fun to watch

I agree! Especially when I am not trying to chase them or shush them... this process reminds you how awesome it is NOT to have the kids with you...so many times I think "wow, am I glad that child is not mine...ah, now relax"

I am treating my 2 best friends to a cruise in December...just booked it yesterday. Although I can easily get caught up in the guilt of doing this cruise without my kids and DH, part of me is excited to experience a Disney cruise as adults only...going to Satellite falls, but not feeling like a ticking time bomb because one of the kids is looking for me...exploring the spa which i have never done...taking my time seeing things that we are normally rushing by...my friends have never been on Disney and one friend will probably never do a cruise again as her DH compares it to the Titanic! this is very exciting!

My husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary on the Fantasy last year. We had previously taken our kids with us on two cruises and loved them so much that we decided we wanted to try by ourselves. We loved it! I won't lie, there were a few times that I thought to myself, "I wish the kids could see this" or "the kids would love to do that"...but i got over it right away. We got to enjoy things that we would never had been able to do if the kids were with us. We are planning another one with our kids as well as another one without them!

So glad I found this thread!! I just booked a 7 night cruise for my DH & I for our 25th anniversary. We have taken our DD's on 5 DCL trips. I really want to go with my girls also but they are 22 & 20 and their schedules will not allow it.

My question is about dinning. I would rather eat at the early seating. Do you think we will be able to have a table to ourselves or with other adults only? I love kids, don't get me wrong....I work at a pre-school :) But, I would like to have adult conversation on this trip. Should I call Disney and have them put that in as a request?

the one time we did not make a special request for dinning and it was just the two of us, we were seated at a table for 8. there was three other couples of about the same age who shared this table. it was very nice. i think disney does a bang up job with putting like with like. i doubt they would place you with a family that has children.

As noted Disney is very good about placing non-kid groups with other non-kid groups. If you wish to be seated by yourselves, you need to call DCL and have the request placed on your reservation.

All cruises where it was just hubby & I we were seated with only other adults.

Our first cruise ever was DCL without our children for our 25th anniversary. It was awesome!! I felt a little bad for doing it without them, but I got over it quickly!! We did the same thing in noting how much they would love it as much as we did and made sure I stopped at the future cruise desk before we got off the boat! That is my philosophy now....one for Mom & Dad, one for everyone...one for Mom & Dad, one for everyone.....! On our last adult cruise we spent our first evening sitting in the 687 Pub in front of the ginormous tv in the amazing reclining chairs watching Sunday night football! My husband was in heaven watching his Steelers on a cruise ship! Skipped dinner and made trips up top for pizza etc ! So many things to do and even more things that you don't have to do when children are with you! You will love it!

Im one of those people that would feel guilty, but I wouldnt make someone else feel bad about it. Since our kids became Edge eligible we rarely see them on the cruise so I kind of feel I do cruise without them.
