Adults only trip!

Planning a trip for winter of 2016! It will be an adults only trip (no kids here). My third trip and his 1st. I've stayed at AoA and all star sports. We will be there about a week.

We are frequent visitors to Disneyland, and love spending time in the grand California lobby (but could never justify the price to stay there). We will probably not eat much at the resort (unless there are excellent options), so a great food court isn't a priority. We are looking for a relaxing atmosphere with nice grounds. Just a hotel that will fit a great adult trip.

We love the price of the values (who doesn't!) but worry that they are a bit too kid friendly. This will likely be our only adults trip, so I'm tempted to make it special. We can come back to the all stars with kids in tow.

Our budget will allow for us stay at a moderate. We don't mind walking at all, so that is not an issue. I've heard great things about CSR.

I have a tough time booking a moderate when I could get a deluxe for just a bit more. If we pinch pennies and get a good discount, we may be able to swing a deluxe. I would love to stay in AKL.

Where would you recommend? Split stay maybe to offset costs?

Our favorite resort is wilderness lodge. We have stayed at animal kingdom a few times but now only go there to eat Bomas breakfast (which I HIGHLY reccommend). If you can stay at wilderness 1-2 nights it's worth it. As far as the moderate resorts go... I could take or leave them. They're all more adult oriented resorts than the value resorts though. Probably port Orleans is where I would stay for a moderate.

To me.. I would rather stay 2 nights (or whatever you can afford) at a deluxe and the rest at a value than waste money on a moderate...

I would vote for POR. Relaxing atmosphere (all things considered) Yeeha Bob for entertainment, boat ride to DTD, decent sit down restaurant.

As you can see from my signature, I have stayed at all levels........For ME, it is very hard to justify the cost of the deluxe resorts. HOWEVER, consider renting DVC points! I have rented deluxe for less than the cost of a moderate!
