I'm not sure if this is the right board, so please feel free to move this if it's not!

We are heading to Disney next month and I put together awesome outfits for my daughter each day... and now I'm wondering if I can get in on the action :goodvibes

Is it totally weird to be "dressed up" as an adult? I don't mean in a full on costume, I'm thinking more of a Disney patterned skirt (like the ones you can get on Etsy for toddlers... I kind of want one) or something like that.

There's a whole thing called "disneybounding" where you dress in outfits inspired by characters or rides, etc etc. Kinda neat. And kinda related to what you're thinking of. :)

You will see a bunch of different levels of "disneyfied" clothing.

I think it would be perfectly normal to have a patterened skirt.

Not weird at all! You will see many adults dressed in matching Disney attire. I was one of them a couple months ago:goodvibes

ktdid23, I am in my 50's and will be Disneybounding each day of my upcoming trip next week. Some of the styles shown on the Disneybounding Tumblr pages are a little young for me, so I am going with what I consider more age appropriate. I am dressing as Snow White for the MNSSHP, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh and Cinderella each day after. I have a pair of white pants and a pair of soft yellow pants and I am doing tops of whatever color is appropriate for the character. I have had a blast going to Charming Charlie's and Sam Moon hunting up pieces of jewelry and colored headbands for each character. It has added a new dimension to my trip. I see it as paying homage to my favorite characters without dressing up in a costume which I would not be comfortable wearing.

Have fun!

You won't be allowed to wear anything that they consider a full costume, unless it's a party, but I have seen some cute outfits- the woman dressed in yellow jeans, blue and red top, and red bow headband alá Snow White comes to mind.
If I'm not wearing (couture) ears I'm wearing a little tiara, myself.

I don't do full out Disney replica customs... but I do love to get in on the fun and action - so do my Teen girls...

Here's a few from our latest trip...

And I have a TON more in my TR (link in my siggy)... I must say that this trip was BY FAR our very best one - the comments and people who loved our items were overwhelming - we were stopped constantly... It was a lot of fun and I don't think I could ever go to Disney again with out all the fun accessories!

Wow! I loved everything you guys wore! You are really talented.

Do you have a shop or is it just a hobby? I would love to find some things like that!

Thank you... My friend Jen made all of the ears/headbands/flip-flop bling... My friend Chiara (and I) made all of the felt embroideries on my tank tops (which I don't think you can see in any of the pics, because they are on my bottom left hem)... and I made all of the bags. It's a lot of fun and something I really enjoy doing. :)

I don't blame you for wanting in on the action! :thumbsup2

Disneybounding is insanely popular right now as there is a site dedicated to outfits on tumblr. Some of the outfits are costly so it may take a bit of work to find a less expensive alternative, but whichever the case, the outfits are cute! Next trip I plan to give it a go. I wanted to do so this trip but time got away from me and before I knew it, I had a whole new Loft and Lacoste wardrobe waiting to be worn in the Florida sun. ;)

I think Disneybounding is a cute idea but I don't have the time to go about buying different things from many different places to construct outfits, I'm afraid it's just boring tops and shorts for me again this year, lol!
