We are going to be on a Halloween cruise next year. They are having a costume contest. Can adults dress in Disney costumes? I know you can't do it in the parks, didn't know about on the ship.:confused3

Adults dress in Disney costumes during the halloween parties at the parks, so I can't see why not on the ship.

As long as you don't pose for pictures with other guests or sign autographs, DCL is fine with you wearing Disney costumes.

They don't want any confusion as to who's the "real" character.

We were on the Fantasy over Halloween in 2012. The adults wearing Disney costumes far out-numbered the other adult costumes.

We were just on the Magic over this Halloween and there were many, many adults in Disney Costumes.

We dressed up as Mr and Mrs Banks on the Halloween cruise this year. They do have an adult Halloween costume with multiple categories. As long as you're not posing for pictures and signing autographs you should be fine.

I was on the Wonder for Halloween and dressed up as Cruella DVille. There was a Mary Poppins and Burt. All kinds of Disney characters. Just don't sign autographs. There was a contest for the adults after the late seating of dinner in the Atrium.

Have fun. It was a great time for all.

Did you go to the Contest in Fathoms? That was awesome to see all the costumes!!!

I enjoy wearing costumes and if I can I usually wear a full pirate costume for pirate night on the ship. If I was on the ship during Halloween I would definitely wear a costume.

So I got stitch cozy pajamas and was wondering if Disney would frown upon me wearing the pajamas while getting a picture with stitch lol, I thought its a kind of corny and cool idea at the same time, heck though, after getting the pajamas though I might not even bring them, bigger then I thought, but very cozy

Sarah, I seem to recall you posing for pictures with Mary Poppins!!!! LOL!!!

(just kidding...one of our other friends dressed like Mary Poppins and it was KEWL to get a picture of the 3 of them together)

The adult costume contest in Fathoms was the best....so many great costumes....I loved the Carnival Cruise survivors and the ladies that were the Disney Magic ship!!!!

To answer the OP's question...there were tons of adults dressed in Disney costumes and lots of adults dressed in themes....and there were some very creative kids costumes as well....we saw one boy who's Dad made a Lightening McQueen car out of cardboard and paint...not sure how he got it onboard as it was pretty big but the little biy was so cute and so proud of his costume.

My wife, son, and I dressed up as Cinderella and her genetically challenged step sisters on the Magic this year. We weren't sure how Disney would like a 6'2" man with a full beard dressed as a step sister. We took lots of pictures with people and the cast found it funny also.
