ADRs - what happens if we want to eat in the lounge?

Backstory - we booked our first WDW trip in Sept for Nov. The whole TS dining, ADR thing took me completely by surprise.

I was able to get ADRs for our evening meals. TS at dinner is important to us, we like a relaxing meal to end the day. Later I learned that the lounges have tables for dining.

What happens, for example, if we arrive at the Brown Derby with an ADR but would like to eat outside on the patio at the Brown Derby Lounge? Will our ADR still be honored? Or will we get charged the no-show fee if we eat in lounge as opposed to the restaurant? (Obviously I would check in at the restaurant and ask)

Along the same lines, I was wondering if we could sit in the Kona Lounge at 8:30 versus the restaurant at our 9:15 ADR time.

Common sense, based on my years in the restaurant industry, is that management would be happy to get butts in chairs in the lounge AND in the restaurant (via a walk-up made available by me taking a lounge table) but I have learned during my planning process that WDW operates like no other place on earth. :)
