Is it just best to have your ADR's in the park where you will be that day? We have our ADR's for character breakfasts and lunches. Would it just be better to be in the park where the ADR is those days?

It really depends on people's preferences and transportation methods. And whether you have park hoppers or not. Without hoppers, you cannot enter 2 different parks that day.

Personally we like to have our ADRs near the park we will be at that day. Otherwise it gets too tiring to rush from resort to TS to park to TS, etc..

On the day that we go to AK, we like to eat a TS breakfast at Tusker's before the park opens. Then BOMA for dinner.

On MK, Crystal palace breakfast before the park opens, with dinner an easy monorail ride away at Kona Cafe, Ohana or 1900 Park Fare.

DHS is harder... just eating dinner at Sci-Fi that day, and breakfast at POP

ANd Epcot? Well, there's just so many restaurants in there it's hard to choose!!

Definitely- you can waste a lot of time running to a different park to make an ADR. We have never felt the need for park hopper, so when we have an ADR in a park, we go to that park for the day. Or if at a resort, such as the Contemporary, go to the nearby park (MK).

If you do not have park hopper tickets, it may be a necessity, unless you'd want to eat at a resort. But if you do have park hoppers, whether or not you want to take travel time is up to you. I eat at resorts sometimes because their restaurants are better than a lot of the park restaurants, but I don't care if I miss any "park time"

I love having them in the park I'm in. It's a great way to get off your feet and regroup (and cool off or warm up if needed).

It would drive me nuts to race from one park to another just for an ADR. I have seen friends' schedules for a first Disney trip and it boggles my mind to think of how much precious vacation time they gave up running from one park to another.

We do most of the character meals on each trip, but we schedule in the park, or on the way to or from the park, so we don't shortchange our park time at all.

With little ones, we will be eating in the park we are going to that day, at our resort, or at a restaurant available by monorail when we are at Magic Kingdom. We won't have park hoppers and are relying on Disney transportation.
