Since it seems like just about everything is going back to pre-covid status, is there any word about ADRs going back to 180 days? Is it possible this is the new normal? Any intel on that?

I didn't like the 180 days either. As much of a planner as I am, deciding when are where to eat a half a year before our trip even started was too far out. I like the 60 days. Like Pumbaa too, I could tolerate 90 if they changed it to that. Just not 180 again.

The reason I liked the 180 days out deal was because of not a lot of people knew where they were going to eat that far out except me so it was easier to get ADR's. 🤣

I'm glad they returned to 60 days out from 180. I hope it stays at 60 days out.

I liked the 180 day ADRs. Dining is a big part of the experience for us, so we know what restaurants we want to visit on our trip. But, I do have to wonder, why did Disney allow 180 day ADRs in the first place? What's in it for them?

I wonder what proportion of total reservations made between 180 days out, and say 120 days out, actually stayed the same? For example, I often rejigged my reservations closer to the time when either other ADRs I wanted became available, or park hours changed, etc. I suspect a big proportion of ADRs made that far out ended up changing. So from Disney's perspective, anything in the system that far out is rather meaningless from a planning perspective. And I suspect they got many complaints from people who could not get any dining reservations 3 months in advance, for example. So, what does Disney have to lose by moving it to 60 days out? Why would they move back to 180 days? I'm not saying they won't - I'm just interested on reasons why they might go back. For the record, I hope 180 days does return :D

Knowing my luck I will be at my 60 day mark getting ready to make a call to set up my ADRs and that's the day they'll change it to 180 days out and I'll have three times the amount of people calling and taking up the restaurants because at that point I will have effectively waited until 2/3 of my time have expired to make the phone call.

Is there a reason you're calling and not using the app or website?

Its difficult to compare ADR availability at 180 and 60 days as currently there are so many restaurants still not open.
I really didn't mind 180 or 60 days.
However, if FP comes back having FP and ADRs start at 60 days would be bad.

No. I just simply said the word "call". I don't think it's really central to my point. Call or online, either way the joke still stands. My luck I will go to make my ADRs at 60 days out and that's the day they'll change it to 180.

I’m 111 days out. I just hope they don’t randomly switch to 180 when I’m unaware. Once I pass the 90 day mark, I’m worried about the same.

Thats what Im afraid of!!!

I think the problem is even if our booking is at day 60, or even day 180, I can never really find the ADRs we want on the initial arrival + 2 days. Examples: BRG, CRT or Ogas. We usually only do 4 day trips so it makes it impossible becuase of others who book earlier and stay for 1week already snatched all the Ogas for our whole trip. So either we have to play the refresh game up until our trip or use other work around to secure ADRs .
