I read somewhere that when you call "Group Dining" for ADR's for large parties that they require a credit card to hold the reservation. I'm not referring to signature restaurants or CRT just a standard 1 credit TS restaurant. Also, that if you cancel or are a no show that they will charge your credit card $10 a person. Does anybody know if this is correct or is this info outdated?
We will be on the DDP if they makes any difference.

Thanks in advance.

I just made a reservation this afternoon for 22 and was not asked for a credit card to hold it, I don't know if it makes a difference but DH and I are on the DDP, others in the party are not.

I made reservations for an entire week for a party of 11 and the only one I had to do CC hold was CG where everyone has to do a CC hold.

We've made reservations for between 21 up to 26 people for our trip in February. The only credit card hold I had to place was for Cali Grill. They don't charge your card upon booking; but if you don't show up and not cancel with 24 hrs , they charge $10 pp.

By the way, some of the restaurants now require a direct call to the establishment to book for large parties (they tell you which when you call Group Dining). I was successful in doing this for LeCellier; but when I called for Whispering Canyon (and waited 2 days for someone to call me back from there) I was told if I booked a large group I could only choose their Skillet platter for dinner. Whether the Skillet platter is good or not, we didn't want to be limited to only 1 choice.
For some of the other restaurants we just made 2 ressies (ex. for 10 and 11) directly through group dining for each for the same date/time and they link them together, and hopefully, we'll be seated close together (although it's ok if not). I've learned from past experience the earlier your ADR (at opening time) with a large group, the easier to get everyone seated together when you book separate ADRs like that.
We're on the DDP.
Good luck!
