This is a list I have of what we want for our ADR's. I put a price amount next to it stating the cost (as I have estimated). I would love any oppinions on these. The prices also do not represent adult beverages. The trip consists of DH (36) DD (2) DD(1) and Me (32). DH and I go to WDW about once a year and these are mostly new restaurants for us. DH and I typically share meals when we can as well. I an also deciding on DDP or not. We have done it before and love it, however for this trip I think we may do better without it. Thanks for your input.

I would get the dining plan. You are spending 490 total. THe DDP would only cost you a little under 480. I don't like having to nickel and dime when I'm on vacation so we always get it. Lastly, with two little kids, use the snacks for milk and apple juice for the little ones so you don't have to worry about carting around stuff for them.

I would also pay oop for Spoodles (its a Sig rest. isn't it?). Don't forget, DDP also covers tip and tax.

But, that's my opinion.

Good luck and have a great trip.

Gretchen

P.S. We have a Lily too.

Just a note, do the proces you have pout down include tax and tips? DDP does include those. YOu need to the food you are going to buy, including the tax and tip to come to more than the $38.99 each you will be apying for DDP.

I think you may have under estmated some fo your costs. For examepl, 50 PTC the chicken is $14.99 (most are more), then there is the drinkm which I assume will be about $2, that comes to $16.99, even if you do not have any appitiser or dessert then with tax and the gratutity the meal is $21 per person.

San angel Inn starts at about $19.95 for an entree before tax and gratuity

It may be worth looking at the meal proces a little more closely (allearsnet.com have the prices), but it is likey that this DDP will be good for you, it will also mean no counting money and you can have the appitisers and desserts, which even if you do not want may help with the children.

The dollar amounts that you have for the TS meals seem quite low. Have you read over the menus on www.allears.net? This is a great place to read each menu and also see the prices. Don't forget to figure in beverages, tax & tip! :upsidedow
edited to add: I just went over your numbers again. If I am not mistaken, the numbers in the above quote add up to 490.00. The DP for 2 adults (since your little ones are free on the plan) adds up to 467.88 (Figuring you are staying for 7 days/ 6 nights) You could pay OOP for one day or stretch the DP by sharing as you have said you plan to do anyway. Whatever you decide, have a magical adventure! :thumbsup2

The price when I figured it for the DDP was $590. Did I do something wrong. Jiko's is the only signature dining and we would split the meal. Or DH would use the DDP and I would just order OOP. I like the idea about the kids juice and stuff from SC though. I did look at menus. I chose what we would most likely get and added it up. We really do split a lot. i don't eat a whole lot.

:wave2: I edited by above post to add the cost of the DP for you. 7 days/6 nights would be 467.88 for your family. (38.99 x 2 adults x 6 nights with your little ones free on the DP)

Thank you. I am Math challenged apparently. It is 7 nights though so it is $546.86. I think that maybe the DDP is worth it for the extra $50. It is really close though. Thanks for all of your help. Any opinions on the choices?

DF and I did the DDP for the first time in November and loved it. It definitely saved us money, even though we have the DDE card. We''re doing it again for this upcoming trip. :thumbsup2

Just my humble opinion, but for the extra $50.00 I think the DDP is definitely worth it for you guys! Especially considering the DDP includes tax & tip. And the freedom of having the meals paid for before you go and therefore not having to budget money each day for meals? and being able to order a yummy appetizer or dessert without a second thought? Now that's a vacation! :upsidedow

The DDP is very 'worth it'. I agree with the above posts that you have underestimated your food spending.

Check the DIS's menus: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm

Another example: You budgeted $20 for dinner at Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Now, granted, they have some pizzas for between $11 and $13. These are pretty much individual pizzas - definitely not enough to feed four people, even though two of them are under three; $20 covers one pizza and two drinks, plus tax & tip. That's it.

I think we are going to go with the DDP. It is just easier. We have done it before and we loved it. I was just trying to compare cost to see it it was worth it this time. Thanks for all the responses.
