I wondered about it for us too, but
1. we like to sit down and one meal a day while we are out
2. my two year old eats "free" at these meals (most are buffets/family style)-I don't have to share
3. no waiting in line to meet characters ("we already had dinner with him, it's someone else's turn")
4. no waiting in line for rides-I think it will be much easier to convince DS to leave the park for the day if he knows we will see Mickey later (or at least I hope so!)
5. my toddler does not eat much, so someone is usually occupying him while the others at the table eat (he's not ill behaved, he is just not into eating). I would LOVE to relax and let him talk to mickey while I get a few bites in
6. by the next time we get to Disney, he might not like the characters anymore
7. It's a blast...DH and I ate at Crystal Palce before kids and it was fun
