Has anyone ran into limited ADRs? It has never been this difficult to get a PS for a trip-I can't even get one for Ohana's in May! Granted, I don't mind eating at our place but I wonder what would happen if we bought the dining? Would that make a big difference getting a reservation? We will try walk up or call when we get there but I can't get over the lack of TS availablility!:confused3

ADR's can now be made 180 days in advance. With the dining plan, people are making their plans early.

We just tried to get LeCellier for September and there was nothing left. Of course, I have no one but myself to blame, since I've been procrastinating on those danged ADR's for who knows how long.

Well that's one of the reasons we love DVC is that we go whenever airfare is good! If we cannot get dining while we are there-what's next? Take away the fast passes, too?
But what if I did purchase the dining? Is there a cutoff point of sales? No more PS's, no more dining?

Yes the DDP has made it harder to get into some places if you don't call early. I always make mine at 180 days out to avoid being disappointed. We tried to call once when we were in Disney to change the time of one of our dinners and couldn't get a later time. Some people are even reporting being turned away when walking up to a restaurant because they are too booked.

I don't think having the dining plan makes it easier to get into a restaurant. It's all about timing.

Good luck to you.

Having the DDP will make no difference. The ADRs are "first to ask, first to get". There aren't separate "inventories" of reservations for DDP and everyone else.

My advice is to try early or late or try some of the less popular restaurants.

The availability of the dining plan means that there are many more people eating in TS restaurants than there used to be. It's certainly possible to get reservations, but you need to call further in advance nowadays.

My first trip after the DDP started, I got caught off guard just like you have, and we ate a lot of CS on that trip. Consider it a lesson learned; I call for my ADRs a lot earlier now.

If you can't get the ADRs you want before your trip, keep calling once you get to WDW. People do cancel, and seatings will open up.

Disney doesn't stop selling the DDP just because restaurants are booking up; I doubt if there's ever a time when EVERY restaurant on property is completely full. It may not be the restaurants or dining times that you'd prefer, but something's available.

I don't know why this was moved? I am interested in DVC members' response to the DDP.
The whole lack of spontaneity thing for a trip just makes me sad for DVC and planning. I guess good ole days are over!
