ADR w/ Friends--but don't want to link on MDE

We want to make a breakfast or lunch reservations with friends going same time as us. I have done this in the past with friends, and we linked up as Family and Friends on MDE, but I really don't want to do that this time, as it was confusing seeing both party's Fps, etc! I was always worried I would change one of hers! So if we book same time but separate reservations, how does that work? Do we just show up and ask to sit near each other? I know it's probably not a guarantee doing it that way. Any other way to link up one reservation? Thanks!

Why not just put everyone under one reservation? Are you concerned your group is too large? You can make a ressie without naming/linking all the guests.
