ADR vs PS?

uugghh i hate when people change the name of things for no reason! ANNOYING!

I am glad you asked. I didnt know either. What does it stand for "advanced dining reservations"?

ADR stands for Advanced Dining Reservations.

One theory I heard about the name change was that people were getting confused by the term "Priority Seating" (obviously they weren't WDW regulars).

There's no difference in the way ADRs work.

Could be...but does having "RESERVATIONS" in the new name really help, since we all know that there are no such things as "reservations" at WDW? :rotfl:

Especially because when I got off the phone with Disney dining today, they told me that now they're just calling them "reservations" and that they've dropped the "advance dining" part.

I cant keep it straight :confused3

Interesting, I hadn't heard that... I'll have DH ask when he calls tonight to make PSs/ADRs/Ressies for my Girls' Shopping/Eating September trip!

Good point. It doesn't help me, that's for sure. I wish they'd do ADR's/PS's like they do Hoop de Doo reservations, except without tickets. When you make a reservation for Hoop de Doo, they take a credit or debit card number as a "hold" for your reservation and either send you tickets in the mail or hold them for you at will call. If you don't cancel your HDDR ressies within 48 hours of the show, there will supposedly be a financial penalty applied against your credit/debit card. I wish they'd do this for ADR's as well, without the tickets, of course. If there was an actual table held for your party in return for a credit/debit card hold with a chance for a penalty in case of not showing up without proper cancellation, I think a lot of the present abuse of the ADR system (e.g. multiple bookings at the same time) would evaporate.
