ADR Tendency: Breakfast

I think I'm just about done booking my ADR's. But I'm not fool enough to think I won't outsmart myself and start tweaking them and cancelling, booking and re-booking. But as I look at my ADR's, I notice that mine show a tendency towards breakfast (3 B, 1 L, 2 D). And this will change if I can luck into a Crystal Palace brunch reservation instead of dinner. But I was just wondering, 'Am I wrong booking breakfasts and brunches more so than the other meals?'

I look at it a couple ways.

1) I'm carb loading so that I can get a CS at a non-busy meal time at the parks

2) Once you get the big meal out of the way, the rest of the day, you are on your own timetable.

So... Am I wrong? And, do you have better strategies?

I think it's all personal preference.
Last week we had breakfast ADRs at Kona, Tusker House, and CRT. We went the majority of the day before being hungry again. And it was nice to have the TS meal out of the way.
I'm also a big breakfast person... I could eat breakfast foods all day long!

Well, it really depends. Are you on the DDP? If you are, you lose any cash value of using the plan if you use your TS credits on breakfasts. For there to be any real cash value using the plan, your TS meal needs to cost roughly $30. Most breakfasts don't cost $30.

It also depends on what time your breakfast ADR's are for? If they are early, is breakfast going to hold you over until your CS dinner? If you have all 8AM ADR's, you might end up needing 3 meals that day anyway.

However, if you feel multiple TS meals in a day might in some way ruin your vacation and you are comfortable with the plan you have, you can't be wrong because that is how you want to do your trip. No one on the boards can answer if you are right or wrong because everyone travels differently.

However, since you asked for other strategies, I'll be happy to ramble about WDW a little longer.:cool1: Our (DGF-23 and me-26) last trip this past May, we used the DDP. We stayed for 8 nights and ended up with 13 ADR's:scared1: We did 3 character breakfasts (Tusker, CM, 1900 PF) of which I paid for 2 OOP. I also paid for FF, Jiko and HDDR OOP. If on the mornings you have a TS breakfast and don't think that a TS breakfast and CS meal will be enough for your party, and you can fit it into a budget, maybe hang on to the breakfasts (or some of them), pay OOP for them and book a TS dinner on those nights as well. Maybe try it early on in your trip and if it ends up being too much food you can always cancel your ADR's while there. In any case, it is your trip and you know what will work best for you.

We do about every other day a character breakfast or a brunch and I actually prefer that then have rest of day to use CS where ever. We do have several dinner favorites as well and try to just balance them out and then sometimes do a signature. This trip in 24 days we are doing two breakfast:O'Hana's/ Tusker House/ then 1 character brunch at Hollywood and Vine then the rest dinners. will be there 11 days this trip and the majority want dinners. Like you prefer breakfast and for me feel like I eat less in long run

It's really a matter of personal preference.

I'm not a fan of breakfast foods (I tend to eat carbs and fruit), but my BFF is--bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit--she loves it all! So we usually do one or two TS breakfasts (late--we aren't park commandos!) and three or four TS dinners during out 10 to 12 night WDW visits. She also loves dinner, so we plan a couple for each of us! *LOL*

Occasionally, we'll substitute a late lunch for dinner, but we find that usually breaks up the day too much. :)
