It has been a long time since I was at WDW and am thinking of going again. When we were there last time, I called and made a reserveration for 1/2 hr - 1 hr later (depending on where we where). We walked into the restaurant and where seated right away, even with others waiting. Is this still possible or is it set up so you have to make the reservation so many hours in advance?
Thanks.

Definitely need to make your reservations well in advance. Popular reservations should be made at the 180 day mark.

I agree. Always better to make them ahead of time. However, some restaurants have pretty good availability same day. Just to experiment, you could go on website or app now and see what's available for the rest of today and tomorrow. This ~might~ give you an idea of which restaurants you would definitely need to prebook vs. the ones that usually have same-day availability. To repeat though, it's always best to prebook if there is a specific place you REALLY want to eat.

We were able to get last minute ADRs from our hotel room because there was an opening. Just wondering if they put a time on how long you had to make the reservation before eating.

You can still make reservations for times that are at least 30 minutes out, depending on availability at the restaurant. I just looked at Dining Reservation availability for right now and it's offering times at least 30 minutes in the future (nothing closer than 30 minutes is showing).

Thanks Figment! Just the info I was looking for. BTW love your trip ports!
