I called yesterday and booked my entire trip. It was 180th day. I booked for the entire 8 days we are there Nov 21-29th. Ok, so we call this morning because we decided to change our dinner on the 28th to a different place - believe it or not, some of the places I wanted were already booked!!
Anyway, she (CM) tells me I cannot book for the 28th yet. I told her that I just booked yesterday for my entire trip because of the 180day + 10 rule. She says "yep", but now that that 180th day has past, I must wait until 180 days from Nov 28th, which is next week to change it!
This is the silliest thing I have ever heard!!!:confused3

Wait a few hours and phone another CM..that is not Disney policy as I understand it..your 180+10 has already started...

I would call back and get a different CM - when I called 180 days out from the beginning of our trip, the CM I got told me I had to call every day to book (180 days out from each meal!). So when I called the second day, that CM let me book out the remainder of the trip. So my situation was kind of like yours in reverse!

I would definitely call back and try again-this doesn't sound right at all. I think you just got a CM that isn't very well trained. :confused3

call back.Poorly informed cm.i am not to shocked about stuff being booked already, that is Thanksgiving week and it is very busy that week.

That CM was clueless. The lack of awareness by CM's is really disappointing.

It is so frustrating the lack of knowledge on those phone lines. Makes me want to work for them to make sure at least ONE person would know what was going on!

Did you write down the cm's name? Just in case you get her again...here's hoping and praying all will work out for you:)

I have noticed several CMs are very misinformed these days............what a shame!

We will be visiting Thanksgiving week also. Today was my day to call for ADRs and I got almost everything I wanted when I wanted it. I even got CRT for breakfast at 8:05 and at the end of the conversation, 35 minutes later, I asked how to book the Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique. The CM was very helpful. She even asked if I could eat a bit later so my daughter could visit the Boutique before breakfast, so she could be in proper Princess attire. Amazingly we got the BBB for 8:00am and CRT for 8:55am. This CM, Natalie, really knew her stuff. The only thing we didn't get was Hollywood & Vine for breakfast. The CM said it was odd that breakfast was not available for any day that week. She apologized and asked me to please call again in a couple days.

This is our first trip to the disney resort. We have been to a couple of the parks before on one day trips. But the whole deal with ADR's kinda frustrates me too. I did book 4 meals for our trip in September but it's like you have to have every aspect of your vacation planned 6 months in advance. It would be nice to be able to decide one day you would like to go somewhere to eat and be able to go, but with some of these ADR's you are out of luck if you don't decide 180 days in advance.

Sorry so late in posting a reply, but I have been gone all day with family! I DID call back and the CM I spoke to the second time had no problems at all booking the reservation that I wanted. I do think that all of the CM's should be on the same page when it comes to rules and policies. My best friend called 3 times to book for her dining during the MVMCP. She even told the CM's that she received a notice by mail informing her to do so. It took 3 phone calls to get someone who knew what they were talking about and book the ressie!! It is so frustrating! To make it worse, this is my best friend's first trip ever to Disney. She has gotten some pretty bad first impressions of WDW from experiences on the phone with CMs! They really need to get their act together!:headache:

Anyway, the 2nd CM that I talked to did do another very good thing..... she made me cancel the 1st ADR I had book for that night before she booked the second one. If they are now starting to do this, it will help cut back on people double booking for convienence, which is not fair to everyone else!:)

Congratulations! We did not get everything we wanted, LTT was booked for every time slot except 4:15pm on Thanksgiving Day, and we would have had to split our party into 3 different tables. We just went with Chef Mickey instead because we wanted to at least sit together as a family for Thanksgiving Dinner. The other ADR's I booked were not all at great times. We had to take a 4:30pm at WCC to get in any day that week for a party of 11. I think it mostly had to do with our party size, but overall I was pleased!:)

It's been noted by me and many others that the knowledge of the CMs on the WDW-DINE line is hit or miss.

I do know someone who was delayed in booking food and wine festival events (and several were sold out by the time this was worked out) because the WDW-DINE agent had no idea what the food and wine festival was, or that there were separate events for it.

Not to say that is wrong but when I call to change any of my dining. They tell me to book the one I want & then cancel. At least this is what I have experience:goodvibes One reason what happen if you cancel that ressie & the other one you really want is not there, no going back unless you get lucky. Though some think this is double booking it isn't as you are making a new one as long as it is there then they cancel the other one. :thumbsup2

I would book first and then cancel the original one myself. I would act as if it is a totally new ADR... I just would hate to see someone miss out because they cancelled the original one first and then when they went to rebook, what they need was unavailable..
