Quick look at our trip: Traveling in May with DH and our 4 kids who are 5,3, and infant twins + my parents and grandparents (4 generations at Disney!), Trying to keep our meal choices somewhat budget friendly and good for a wide variety of palates, Staying at FW cabins so we will try to take advantage of the offerings there and not do too much travel since we have 4 young kids

Please give me your thoughts/suggestions! I have made many changes in the planning process and I'm still not set on our choices. Thanks!

Day 1: Travel, QS in MK
Day 2: BOG for Dinner with just the big kids
Day 3: Cape May breakfast with grandparents, F & G Booths for lunch, 50s Prime for dinner
Day 4: QS in AK for lunch or possibly Sanaa, Disney Springs QS for dinner or dinner at Trails End?
Day 5: 1900 Park Fare for dinner (Considering canceling this one)
Day 6: Trattoria al Forno Bon Voyage Breakfast, Epcot QS, and possibly Mickey's Backyard BBQ

I'm looking specifically for feedback on Mickey's Backyard BBQ and 50s Prime. I'd hate to stay at FW and not try the BBQ, but it is $$$ and the reviews are mixed. Also, just an FYI, we have been to Akershus and Tusker House and loved them both but want to try new things this time.

BOG for Dinner with just the big kids

I think this will be a good one for your kids since you get to meet the Beast. I liked the food here too. I'd suggest not eating in the West Wing. They have thunder and lights flashing every so often, which could scare younger kids.

I would recommend Via Napoli over quickservice unless you are specifically "snacking your way around the world"

Day 3: Cape May breakfast with grandparents, F & G Booths for lunch, 50s Prime for dinner

Based on our own F&W festival experience there's no way we'd manage a TS in the evening after a buffet breakfast and snacking round the booths. I'd look to either cancel 50s Prime Time or eat at the booths on Day 6 and not do Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

The rest looks good though! We love Sanaa but it will depend on how long you want to spend at AK and how you're travelling as to whether you might be better off just eating in the park.

On Day 3 you have lots of travel. I really like 50's but I wouldn't travel from Epcot just for dinner there.
I would do AK QS and Trails End dinner on day 4. I would not attempt DS on this trip. Trails End is great.
I have never experienced the Barbeque so I can't offer an opinion.

I disagree. I think 3 TS meals in one day is too much for this family

I agree with Hopefully. Traveling for meals with young kids gets to be too much. Take the easy road and eat where you are!
I think that the big breakfast days will result in a very light lunch so on days 3 & 4 I'd plan snacks at lunch and QS for dinner in your evening park or have groceries and eat at the cabin/use the Fort's QS.
AS far as Mickey's BBQ, I think you'll be happier with the items at TE. Maybe go to the Campfire Sing-a-long afterwards.

Is day 5 a rest day? If so, that would be a good one for dinner at Sanaa (one of my favorites) or in DS.

Yes, if you are in HS for an evening I think 50's would be great for dinner.

Day 4 would be great for Sanaa. I think you'll really enjoy a TS after touring and it's a very short ride between AK and Kidani.

You could certainly do that. Personally, I wouldn't want to take up DHS touring time with a TS (1.5-2hrs) when you have limited time there. It's not my favorite park (DH and the kids love it) but we bust a move to get the ride highlights done and always miss out on shows.
I don't care to try to shoehorn a restaurant into plans. If it's not convenient, or causes a time crunch, then I nix it.

Day 1: Travel, QS in MK This IMO is a tough one. I used to say Pecos Bills, but since the menu change, and experiencing it once, can't say good things about it. Cosmic Rays is good for lots of choices, Columbia Harbor House will help curb the seafood tastes and among our favorites, Friars Nook Pot Roast Mac n Cheese. Just bear in mind, seating is limited here
Day 2: BOG for Dinner with just the big kids Only had lunch here, wasn't impressed with the food, but trying dinner after several folks we know speak highly of it. Definitely try it once as the atmosphere is awesome!
Day 3: Cape May breakfast with grandparents, F & G Booths for lunch, 50s Prime for dinner Got to say, y'all are going to be stuffed. Cape May is a good choice, F&G, here is where I would be careful. Find 2 things you really want to try and limit yourself to those. I was just there, and The Farmers Market in Germany had a couple really tasty dishes. 50s IMO is your best choice of the day. Lots of fun, great comfort food, save room for a PB&J milkshake
Day 4: QS in AK for lunch or possibly Sanaa, Disney Springs QS for dinner or dinner at Trails End? I would QS at AK and not kill so much time with travel. FTBBQ used to be our go too here, but not so anymore, last time was very fatty. Yuck! Yak N Yeti is not bad. I can't speak to QS at DS but there are quite a few nice choices at DS now. We had Morimoto Asia for lunch and it was awesome. I don't order ribs, but my DS did, and they were on my mind for next time. Frontera Cocina, not what I hoped for. Raglan Rd. is good, heard great things about The Homecoming.
Day 5: 1900 Park Fare for dinner (Considering canceling this one)I would too. Wish I liked this place, but you are paying for characters with a "oh, by the way, they have food here too" thought in mind. Grand Floridian Cafe is steps away, Kona Cafe, Ohana and The Wave are all on the same monorail line, better choices IMO.
Day 6: Trattoria al Forno Bon Voyage Breakfast, Epcot QS, and possibly Mickey's Backyard BBQ

N/O on the breakfast and BBQ, but Sunshine Seasons and Lotus Blossom Cafe are good QS for Epcot. Heard good things about Tangerine Cafe as well

Although you're also doing the Backyard BBQ and this might be too much BBQ, we loved the Flame Tree BBQ at AK. The sampler platter can be shared by two people making it a budget friendly meal ($20 for 2 people).

When I can't get the reservation I want, I go to Touringplans.com and use their reservation finder. Its free, and will notify you when a reservation close to what you want is available. Its free to use.

Good luck, it's a hard reservation to get for lunch or supper, but can happen.
