I must have the worst luck trying to get these ADR's. Really disappointed in trying to get reservations for dinner at a decent hour for a family of 3 with a 3 year old.

I have been trying for 3 weeks to get a decent schedule and feel like cancelling my trip.

Are you asking for specific places or just asking what is available? Which places?

The reason I asked is I just checked MK for tonight online at 5:30 & there is Liberty Tree Tavern & The Plaza both available close to that time! So surely if that is available for tonight at a decent hour, there must be future openings.

I agree, there is bound to be something for you. Are you asking the CM for area resorts? Monorail resorts have some great restaurants if you don't mind a break from the parks! The Boardwalk is just a short walk from the International Gateway at Epcot and has a lot of restaurants and resorts to choose from.
Sounds like maybe you need a more helpful CM!

Keep trying online every day, or multiple times a day. People cancel. Also try growing an imaginary 2 year old and booking for 4 people instead of 3, and see what you can get. We had a party of 5 on our last trip and on our 90th day at 7:00 a.m. could get nothing at 1900 Park Fare dinner except a reservation at 9:00 p.m. (I didn't even know it was open that late as most websites say dinner ends at 8:30) which was way too late for my 3 year old. The CM told me that sometimes it is hard to book a table for odd numbered groups, but heavily hinted that if I "found" an extra person, she wouldn't have any trouble booking us. I said well then we are 6 for dinner, and she looked and I had my choice of times for the entire evening.

Don't give up hope. People cancel ressies all the time. We ate at 7 (sometimes 7:30) when my DS was 4. He was fine as long as he rested and had a late afternoon snack. He loves bananas so it worked out well for us. Good Luck!

well according to your ticker... you should be in disney around sept 17th-ish... right?

just looking online right now for the 20th-24th...and thre were some early openings for LTT and Crystal Plaza around the MK.

You can't really be too picky since you didnt book 90 days out. If it bothers you that much...go ahead and cancel the trip. You'll make some other family very happy.

It is tough when you have a little one. We have CP scheduled for 12:50 and I am pretty sure that DD2 might be napping in the stroller at that time..

When you call ask for a restaurant timeframe. If that is not available I have had CMs check into other similar restaurants at that time and then offer me that choice. You might have to rearrange your days, but you should not have to cancel your whole trip due to not getting specific restaurants. Your 3 yo will have a great time at Disney no matter where the family eats!

We could not get Chef Mickey on our trip and DH was disappointed but our 2yo will never know.

1. Rethink what decent is and consider the TS meal for lunch rather than dinner.

2. Try to make the ressie online. Even if it boots your first choice it will give you other options around that time, something will work.

I'm confused, is there something specific you are looking for or just within a certain timeframe? Also what are your dates? What do you consider a "decent hour?" If you have a rigid schedule you're trying to fit ADR's into at certain restaurants, yeah you're gonna have bad luck. But if you are open to eating a little earlier or later, at different places or on different days, or trying lunch ADR's you could get a great schedule.

Figure out your desired mealtimes and then be willing to go an hour earlier or later. Make a list of places you'd like to try for - if you want, say, 7 ADR's then make a list of 12-15 places. You will have much better luck this way and still get something you're happy with. Program the Disney Dining phone number into your cell phone and call again the day of, you might luck out and get a last-minute cancellation. Then you can cancel yours and maybe make someone else's day.

I just made all our ADR's this week for 5 people, including a 5yo and 2 grandparents who like to eat early. Our trip is Labor Day weekend and the following week. I ususally make ADR's early but for some reason put it off this time, and I think we got the best ADR's yet - this will be our 5th year of free dining plus several in between trips. We were able to get everything we wanted and then some that I didn't even think of trying for, using the new online reservation system. You can enter a range of dates and if the place you want isn't available, the system will bring up other suggestions. The system also searches for the hour before and after what you put in, so try inputting different times and most of all, be flexible.

Another tip: Use the online system late at night. I'm sure there are less people using it at that time and I had great luck. It was much slower during the day. I think it "holds" people's choices in their "cart" for a short time and then releases them if they don't finalize the reservation, so late at night there are less ADR's tied up in the holding pattern.

If you don't find what you want, try again at another time, there are cancellations all the time. As long as you are flexible on either times or restaurants and you should be fine. As of last night there were still tons of reservations open, maybe not for the most "popular" places (i.e. Chef Mickey's, Le Cellier) but we got into Ohana, CRT, Boma, Crystal Palace breakfast before park opening, etc. All places I would have expected to be full and all at desirable times, not crazy early or very late. My DD5 really wants Chef Mickey's but it wasn't available so we booked something else. I'll try again later and if we get it, great but if not we have an ADR for someplace new we've never tried, it's exciting!

Don't stress, it's vacation at Disney World, it's supposed to be fun!

I struggled too but by checking everyday, I have been able to get everything I wanted. One thing I noticed was that when I was checking for 4 people at 1900 PF, I couldn't get my preferred time. I ended up booking for an hour later. But when I checked for 5 people, it was available.

I am going 9/19-9/26, I am having a hard time booking on 9/24 and 9/25. On 9/24 I am going to MK and wanted to go to Tony's Restaurant and tried between 4:30 and 7 p.m. and nothing and then on Friday 9/25, tried to get reservation for Yak and Yeti from 3:30- 7 p.m. and nothing. If I am at a park, I don't want to travel to another resort area to eat, not worth it in my opinion.

Could you do Tony's for lunch and then do a counter service for dinner? Tony's did have lunch availability that day. Or do you have a different MK day that you could swap ressies with?

Cancelling a whole trip just because you can't eat at a specific restaurant on a specific day seems a bit hasty. What does the rest of your schedule look like? Maybe someone could come up with another suggestion if you post what the rest of your trip looks like so far?

I'm not going to cancel, I guess I was in a bad mood when I started this thread, the more I think about it, the more I say, who cares where I eat. I'll keep looking though!

That's really a much better answer. Although there's some exceptions, most of the Disney food is just not "all that", I think - not worth cancelling your trip or getting all stressed over. It's just food.

Yak & Yeti only takes ressies until 4:45 because AK closes so early (this is true even on EMH nights).
