ADR made, but what if we only want dessert?

Is it okay to make reservations at say, Cali Grill, or Narcoosees just for desserts around fireworks time?

Can we walk in instead to free up an ADR for others or what?

I'm sure that you could do this if you wish. They may not be too thrilled about it, but there's no law that says you have to order an appy, entree and dessert in order to be seated.

I definitely wouldn't try a walkup.

If you only want to see Wishes, you can do it without a dining reservation. At GF, you can see it from the dock outside of Narcoossees. Stop by Gasparilla Grill for a CS dessert and beverage and take them with you.

You could do the same thing at the Poly and watch from the beach.

Not sure if you can do this from the 4th floor observation lounge at the CR. (do you have to be a CR guest to do this?)

Depending on when you are going, if you just wanted dessert, I would make an ADR for after Wishes. The view of Wishes is ok at CG or the Poly beach, etc. etc., but the best view is going to be from MK itself. Not to mention that the restaurants are practically empty after Wishes. The restaurants aren't really worth going through all the trouble of getting an ADR at Wishes time just for dessert. To watch Wishes in MK and then head over for dessert and maybe a bottle of wine after is a different story.

So many people want to eat at California Grill during fireworks time, that I'm sure you'd need an ADR to get in.

Yes, you could just have dessert. I'm sure the server wouldn't be too thrilled but you can order whatever you want to eat.

Yes you can make an adr for just dessert.

At these restaurants it would be a must to get in. So if you want to...do it.

I have done this before and WAS NOT treated any different than a person ordering a full course meal.
The server was wonderful. We went for my birthday and he even gave me a slice of cake for free with a bday card!

It was Brown Derby, a signature restaurant. Granted not during fireworks, but still.

If that is all you want at this particular restaurant then by all means, go and enjoy yourself.
