we're taking a quick surprise trip in mid-january for our family of four along w/another family of four... the other family has only been to wdw once when their kids were 6mos and 2yo... the dad is a big eater and reallllly enjoys a good meal, the more food the better (he's more of a quantity than quality guy LOL)... we will be on the dining plan 'cause we want most everything paid for in advance (the mom HATES reaching into her pocket! LOL!)

soooo... we fly in on a thursday night and leave on tuesday, want to hit all four parks in four days... we're hoping to snag CRT for our first morning, but i'm pretty realistic in realizing it just might not happen... because we will be arriving late and leaving early, we can do two TS on one day...

here's what i am thinking... do you think it gives a good "cross-section" of disney meals and experiences?

Friday: CRT, Magic Kingdom, dinner? (counter service? chef mickeys? LTT?)

Saturday: food court breakfast, MGM, dinner??? (we were not overly impressed w/Mama Melrose on our last trip, disliked sci fi, enjoyed H&V, and don't want to spring for brown derby)

Sunday: AK (probably for half a day)... no clue what the rest of the day/evening will bring... would love to book an illuminations/wishes type cruise... or dinner where??? (what says wdw like nothing else?)

Monday: Epcot... princess breakfast if we don't get CRT otherwise, counter-service... dinner at Teppanyaki (that's my choice 'cause i am dying to go there... another option would be Biergarten as both dads like beer! LOL!)

Tuesday: CS

we're most likely staying at pop century...

thanks in advance for your help :)

Don't forget that CRT now has a character Lunch as well as breakfast--you might be able to get into that if not breakfast. . .

good point, thanks... but after checking the menu at allearsnet.com, it just did not excite me... and it's not all-you-care-to-eat, is it? (the two dads are BIG eaters and the last thing i want is to be blamed 'cause they are hungry! LOL!)

If you are going to spend be at AK, may I suggest Boma for dinner that night? I think they start dinner at 4:30 so you could go there and still make a Wishes or Illuminations cruise if you can get one. I think Boma is an excellent buffet with lots of different stuff to try, but it's not so exotic that you have no clue what you are eating.

LOL @ your description of boma! we tried it a few weeks ago and truly enjoyed it... but, it's not at the top of our "must do again" list... plus, ds has severe peanut/tree nut allergies and like with any other wdw restaurant, we met w/a chef who walked us thru the buffet line and one of the items she identified as "safe" was not and he had a reaction (suffice to say, it was not pretty!), so for emotional reasons, we'll steer clear! plus, the amount of travelling involved w/getting there is a bit too much for us! LOL! esp on a "quick trip" w/only four days...

thanks for your suggestion...

anyone else have a suggestion for a restaurant that just screams DISNEYWORLD that i am overlooking?
