ADR Frustration - mid september

We only recently decided to go to WDW for a convention in mid September and I can't get any ADRs for restaurants in or near the Contemporary. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to have to eat in the room every night. I have been calling every day but it is getting frustrating.

I would just suggest that you keep calling, and call when you get there. I'm also hoping I can get some reservations around the same time. Free dining has everything booked up!

Try The Wave at the CR. I can't imagine they'd be totally booked yet.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Wave. I just got that for one night. My dates are Sept 19-24.

Did you try the Wave at Contemporary. They said they haven't been busy at all, business was just starting to pick up.

I would think that the Grand Floridian Cafe would not be booked completely, and Citricos may have availability as well. They are a monorail ride away. Similiarly, Artist Point should have openings, and they are accessible by boat from the Contemporary.

Keep trying, even if it means calling during your vacation as well. Unfortunately, since you're going during free dining, restaurants are going to be more booked than normal. However, you should start to see people moving things around or cancelling them as the trips get closer or as the trips progress. Good luck!

What about branching out to DTD? CR will have a bus over there.

There I suggest either Raglan Road or Captain Jacks. Both have very good food, a pretty extensive menu and great service.

I second Citricos. We are going the same dates you are (19-24) and just made ADRs for citricos a few days ago.

I agree - keep trying! Things booked up fast, but they are also changing minute to minute as people cancel! Good luck!

Thank you. I was able to get Waves and Citrico's so it won't be Room Service every night and I'll keep trying. There are going to be a lot of hungry looking Privacy Professionals wandering around the Contemporary though. I'm sure most wouldn't think of making reservations ahead of time.

What time do you want to eat, I know there are some Kona Cafe availabilities around 9:00 on most nights.

The problem with these is that they are both on the dining plan. Most restaurants at DTD are not and may have more space.

They shouldn't schedule conventions during free dining- the convention people won't want to go back.

Tell the professionals that the Wave has some really good bar appetizers.

Disney is really becoming an odd vacation destination where vacationers have to scramble and worry about meals...while watching TS restaurants slowly convert to CS so they can move people through them faster.

I also suggest if you have free time from 2 - 6 any day, to try for a res at Garden View Tea at the GF. (Afternoon tea, but they offer a nice variety of food, and you can easily walk away full!)

Keep trying! A few days ago I called to see if I could get a table for two at Jiko on 9/14; the earliest they had was 9:10 pm. I tried again tonight and they had 6:30 and 7:20p (which I snapped up!). Things do open up. By the way, just cancelled a table for two at Citrico for 9/14 if anyone's interested!
