ADR for 2 but I have 3 in my party.

I was just summing up my ADR's for our trip at the end of September and noticed that one for 1900 Park Fair I made on 9/30 is only for 2. I'm guessing while I was hastily making the ressie online, I left the default party count at 2. Unfortunately, the restaurant is booked solid for dinner that day which happens to be our daughter's birthday. Not sure what will happen if we show up as a party of 3. Will they turn us away? I'm hopeful that at the 45 day mark, I'll be able to secure a proper reservation for 3 but if not, I'll need to start looking for other options which are pretty non-existent since we'll be in MK for the day without park hopper and we're planning CP another day and I have less of a chance of getting into CM than I do 1900.

I've never had a problem adjusting my party size up or down by 1. Let the cast member know when you get to the podium that you have three instead of two. If it's at a popular restaurant during a busy time, you may want to let them know early or right when they open if you can. Also, be aware they may stick three of you at a small table for two if they can't seat you at a four top.

The reservations are made based on capacity (and fire codes) not just sticking an extra chair at a 2-top, so if the restaurant really is fully booked, you'll be out of luck.

I would keep trying to get your ADR for three. Try to stick in 4 - perversely, that sometimes opens up more options- a CM told me to do that when we were making ADR's over the phone. Of course, this works only for restaurants that don't require a CC hold, but you could always call at the 48 hour mark and tell them you only have 3 so you won't be charged. (Disclaimer - I've never done this so I'm not certain it will work. Again- I would keep trying to get the exact ADR you need).

Keep trying to change your ADR to the correct number of people. Going from 2 to 3 people you will need a larger sized table than the one they think you will need, and that might cause problems. Especially if they are booked solid.

Changing your ADR ahead of time is the best option. Barring that, show up extra early and plead your case as sweetly as possible.:)

I would also keep trying for three, since they WILL turn away the extra person if they are full to capacity for fire codes. This is rare, because the restaurant has to be absolutely full and that is difficult to reach, and it's not likely, but it does occasionally happen.

1900 Park Fare does have a credit card hold, but look for 4 anyway. Disney's own website says you are not charged if you show up with fewer people, as long as you show up.

Don't worry, I'm sure they should accommodate you. Last Thanksgiving week, I showed up with 7 guests for a 5-guest ressie at Cinderella's Royal Table (mom-in-law tagged on 2 family members last minute). I was nervous, but played it cool and said we just had 7 people :rolleyes1 and the host didn't even flinch. We were accommodated with no issue at all, and that placed was CROWDED!

Best of luck :goodvibes

Thanks for all the responses. I feel better now and that I don't need to obsess about it by checking multiple times everyday between now and then. Especially hearing that Melissa was accommodated at CRT during Thanksgiving week.

That is a good idea to try for 4 but it's odd... I would think that any ressie request for 3 would take from any available 4-tops. Our family of 3 are always seated at tables that can accommodate 4 or more. If anything, in my 3 trips, I've learned that the reservation process is very odd.
