ADR during Fireworks shows

After much planning for our first Disney trip and researching all of the restaurant reviews on The DIS, I made all of our ADR (Deluxe Dining Plan) and was able to get reservations at all of our first choice restaurants. Well, when I reviewed our calendar, all of our dinner reservations coincide with all of the fireworks shows (dinner at LeCellier and Cinderella's Castle). This is our first time at WDW and we'd hate to miss the fireworks shows.

Are restaurants usually quiet during the fireworks displays? Also, would you rather eat at a good restaurant or watch the fireworks? If we show up early for our dinner reservations, will they seat us?

Personally, I think that Wishes is a "must see" at least once per trip! I've only been seated for dinner during the show once and the restaurant was quiet. A few restaurants pipe in the music from the show (not sure which ones but I'm sure someone can help me out). If you're planning to be at MK more than one night I would just try to see the show one night and enjoy a nice meal on another. As for Illuminations, the show was ok, but I personally wouldn't be too upset if I had to miss it. Others may beg to differ! I hope you enjoy your first trip! It truly is a magical experience!
