Actually my DH tackles me as I head to the trash compactor, so you may have to wrestle him for them.

Actually, no.

We buy candy we DON'T like and give those away first and keep the candy we do like for towards the end.

Too much work to go through the actual bags -- usually we are just ripping them open and handing out candy as fast as we can at times.

We have TONS of kids in our neighborhood, we go through at least 5-6 bags if not more (if the weather is really nice!), so we know we won't get stuck with the stuff we don't like first (I like pretty much all candy though, so it's more or less I buy the kind DH doesn't like so he won't eat them all!)

If we got stuff we all liked, it wouldn't last until Halloween.

Ahhh...the Special Darks though, life was so good before I met my DH. Growing up I was the only one who liked the Special Darks so no one even touched those in the bag, they were all mine. Now my DH & all my kids like them -- I have to get my share quickly or I will be relegated to the other kinds.

I hate the time around Halloween, because I buy a huge bag of Halloween candy, and a week before Halloween, it's already gone. Talk about gaining weight!

In our old neighborhood - pre-children - there was a group of us who would get together to hand out Halloween candy. Out of the bag of miniatures, only the milk chocolates were getting to the kids. Everything else was spoken for!!!!!

The Special Darks were mine!

We pretty much buy only what we like, so we can snack on it on Halloween night (and of course before). And then, we have our youngest bring some of his candy back to the house in the middle of trick or treating (since it gets heavy to carry around, or at least that's what we tell him... ). Then we have his candy to snack on and if there's anything really bad that he's gotten, we can then hand that out. He's our 4th child, so we have a good strategy pretty much figured out.

Darn it. I forgot about the candy I had bought for the trick or treaters. Now I may have to take a peek and dip into it.

Seriously, I'm getting my upper teeth pulled on the 28th and getting dentures so that will keep me away from DDs candy for a while. She better gobble it up quick though cause I am quick healer.

Just did it this week! I bought a huge bag of mixed miniatures last weekend. All of the Baby Ruth's & Butterfingers are gone!!! I left all of the Nestle Crunch.
