Where should I purchase my admission? I want to wait until the last minute...because I am traveling with my Mother-In-Law and she's having a little surgery. I really have no idea how she will be feeling. Our current plans are to leave LA around 1:30-2:00 on Wednesday, to arrive at Ramada Maingate. If traffic is light we could arrive at a decent hour! If MIL is feeling well, we will go into a park that evening, so we will need a 2 day ticket. If she's not up to that, it will be one day, Thursday only, that we will need. Still debating whether that will be hopper or just Disneyland...

Anyway, I think we can get tickets at our hotel, and probably at the gates to the Parks. Is there any advantage to either?

TIA!
Katy

Sometimes I've bought our tickets at the hotel as we're checking in.
Other times I've just gone to the ticket booths in the Esplanade.
Either way the price was the same.

Would it be beneficial for your MIL to get a wheelchair or scooter. After surgery she might consider it. There are off-site companies that will deliver to your hotel.

When I go with the grandkids, I'm okay under my own steam for at least three days, open to close. Days four and five I know I'm slowing the group down. Next trip I plan to rent a scooter for at least part of the trip.

You definitely can purchase at Ramada Maingate. Either way, I'd recommend you purchase on your arrival day. That way you aren't wasting precious time if you only have one day! It'd probably be quickest to purchase either at the hotel or online. I've left the LA area and checked into the Ramada at the same time. We have AP's so no need to stop at the ticket booths and we get into the park around 5-5:30. Plenty of play time! Or great to head to DTD for dinner and shopping. Have fun!

You should have shorter lines at the ticket booths in the evening, in the morning they get to be a little long and slow. Most hotels sell tickets in their lobbies, not positive about yours.

I would avoid the ticket booths in the esplanade if at all possible. Go for your hotel OR I'm pretty sure you can easily buy tickets online at the main disneyland website. I don't know if you have to print them out though or if they are etickets. Maybe someone knows?

We usually buy our tickets online, but you get a voucher which you have to redeem at the esplanade ticket booths anyway, so it would be worth it just to buy the ticket at the gate.

If you buy direct from Disney, you can take the e ticket straight to the turnstiles, you don't have to go to the ticket booths at all.
