*ADIOS!* A 16th Birthday & Summer Vacation fit for a Princess! *Updated 7/16*

Hmm, my favorite thing about the Polynesian? It's hard to choose just one! But like you, I really enjoy the theming. It's also really nice being so close to the MK but it's so peaceful. I just have so many good memories from there: playing on the beach when I was little, the volcano pool (even though that was relatively new the last time we stayed there), eating at Captain Cook's, the monorail...ahhh I want to go back!!!

Joining in!!! :) I LOVE the Poly!! We LOOOOVE ohanas.. I love the walk to get to the monorail and the convenience... i love the trees, the smells and the colors! :) It screams Disney!

Congrats on driving!! that's awesome !! :)

You sound so calm on this update about your driving experience, Sara. You thought you were going to die when you talked about this earlier LOL Moving on... The Poly? Hmmm... well I haven't actually stayed there, but I really hope to. It looked like a fun place and the atmosphere is just so nice and laid back. I love nature-themed resorts, too, so that could factor in. And again... Lucky you for getting out earlier than me *hmph* And where are the trivia questions about your TRs? LOL

Haha. I agree, I love the atmosphere at the Poly (:
I ran out of questions to ask! I couldn't think of any more haha

I agree with you on all that (: Captain Cooks is my favorite hotel QS, I love all their food! The Polynesian has the best beach, oh I loved playing on it. Hopefully you'll be going back there soon!

Awwww I'll take the video camera and and give you (and everyone else) a video tour if you'd like haha. But we'll have the online webcam going, so you can see our view from a website- I can't remember the name of it right now but I'll be sure to link it to y'all once we're there. It'll be just like last year, I don't think you were here to see though, it'll be going from when we wake up in the morning to when we go to bed, so 7/8ish-11/midnight. Last year it was a big hit because every night people would be able to watch the fireworks with us from the balcony (:
Yeah you win!

Last summer before our trip I made Toy Story cupcakes (LGM cupcakes to be exact.) So this year I decided to do the same thing.

I made Mickey Mouse cupcakes this time and they didn't turn out the best. I blame the oven. Last time I made cupcakes with my friends the cupcakes turned out the exact same. Our oven stinks and has so many issues.

The cupcakes overflowed even though I didn't fill them up anywhere close to the top, and then mid-cooking I took them out and scraped all the over flowed stuff off. The cupcakes baked better, but the remains of what had overflowed burnt around the edges, making it very hard for me to get the cupcakes out! When I finally got them out, I put the red icing on and then designed them with black frosting.

I ate one but it stained my teeth red and it took me 10 minutes of brushing to get off! So I just threw the rest away hehe. But they looked semi nice.

Of course my dad and brother made fun of me and how my cupcakes turned out :/ It's the ovens fault, cupcakes NEVER come out well in our oven. Next time I'm making brownies!

Almost a month until we're heading back to Disney!

/
Those look like some pretty fantastic cupcakes with the pictures, though I'm guessing it wasn't that way when eating :/ They still look awesome from my vantage point, Sara! :thumbsup2

Hi sarah! I'm going to go back and read this but i'm just going to comment for now! Those cupcakes don't look that good to me, bahaha.

Yay for almost a month! And I like your Scotty/Mickey icon in your signature. :)

They tasted alright... they were just hard to eat and it got icing everywhere. But they looked nice :p

Hi, thanks! I'm planning on going through all the plans and finalizing them today. I'll update about it today or tomorrow probably (:

Today my mom helped me make cupcakes, we needed another go. They turned out MUCH better. We decorated them with red and blue sprinkles, to theme them towards the 4th of July, since that's the next holiday coming up. We only decorated seven of them, we'll decorate the rest tomorrow because we're saving them for Sunday when family comes over for dinner- I guess to celebrate Father's Day.

My mom cut out a stencil of a Mickey Mouse head and we put it on the cupcake and sprinkled the sprinkles over, so they'd form a mickey head. They came out nicely (:

They're chocolate with white icing (: I haven't tried one yet, but I will tonight- they look good

Next order of business. Disney mail.
When I looked at the mail on the counter this morning I saw we had a Disney envelope and it looked pretty stuffed. But I waited for my mom to get home so she could open it.

Inside was our voucher packet and luggage tags!
And these aren't the same luggage tags we've been getting for the past who-knows-how-many-years, these are different :p I don't know how recent they really are- since we haven't been to WDW in a year. But they entertained us!

If you hold them at different angles the image changes a little, pretty cool.

And heres the whole package

I like how on the envelope there's a little boy with Mickey and on the voucher there's a little girl with Minnie. I just find it cute.

In other news tomorrow, June 18th, will officially be one month or 30 days. If we're counting by 31 days like other months... that means today is officially one month! Nevertheless, we're getting closer!

The cupcakes look good! nomnomnom.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

Nice cupcakes... I still think I would rather have the other ones based on the pictures, not your experience, but I'm guessing these came out a lot better :thumbsup2 And those are pretty cool luggage tags! I'm used to the regular boring old tape ones, so those are pretty cool to me. (: I really wish I got Disney mail, it would make my day! :goodvibes

They taste good too haha

More to come about that soon hehe

Thanks, naah these are waaay better. The other ones didn't look that great, they were falling apart, they didn't taste too good, they stained everything red, and they made a huge mess. Yes I lovelovelovelovelovelovelove the luggage tags haha.

So, I pretty much finalized our plans (the parks we go to each day really just depends on whichever one has EMH :p)
I screencapped this right off my laptop, so now y'all can see what I see when I'm looking at our plans
day.jpg

I decided I wanted to do [at least] one new thing every day of our trip. I don't know how that'll work with the rest of my family. But, of well. I based my mission for each day off of the suggestions y'all helped me with earlier!

July 18th
Park: Downtown Disney
Mission: Go to Ghirardelli
(can you believe I've never really been in there before?)

July 19th
Park: Magic Kingdom/EPCOT
Mission: Ride all Magic Kingdom rides (this will take more than one day)/Take a picture of or with a famous landmark in each of the countries (this will take more than one day also, maybe.)

July 20th
Park: Animal Kingdom/Magic Kingdom
Mission: ANYBODY KNOW ANY GOOD MISSIONS FOR ANIMAL KINGDOM?/ride all rides in MK

July 21st
Park: Magic Kingdom/Hollywood Studios
Mission: Ride all rides in MK/ride Tower of Terror [Star Tours II]

*PAUSE* I highly DOUBT the DHS mission will be fulfilled by me. Maybe by my dad and brother, but probably not by me. I hate TOT. I've rode it once and never again. MAYBE, just maybe I'll get over my fear of falling elevators. Or, probably not. But I will be riding the new Star Tours!

July 22nd
Park: Epcot/Magic Kingdom
Mission: take a picture with all famous landmarks in each country and do KP missions that I haven't done yet (we've done England, France, and Japan)/Ride all MK rides

July 23rd
Park: Hollywood Studios/Epcot
Mission: ANY GOOD ONES FOR DHS?/Do Character Spot!

July 24th
Park: Magic Kingdom
Mission: Ride all MK rides

So those are my missions that I will hopefully complete. Anybody have any ideas for the two blank spots? Or have any ideas you would like me to add in?

26 more days! And oh look, I changed my siggy :p

:thumbsup2 for going to Ghirardelli! I think I went there probably about 10 times on my last trip (more Chocolate!) I haven't bought anything from the little ice cream shop thing they have, yet, so I haven't really experienced Ghirardelli fully (: And I think you should definitely do Tower of Terror, it sounds like you did Tower of Terror awhile back and you may have been too young, so I think if you did it again you would like it a lot more, especially when you ride RnRC, which I am terrified of and probably won't ever, but I still ride. BOY, was that run-on! Oh, for those blank spots, I would say at Animal Kingdom try as many as rides as you can and also do a lot of the Exploration trails like Maharajah & Pangani and for DHS, do most of the shows like BatB and American Idol. (: I hope this helps! Hope you have an awesome time (when you go LOL)! :goodvibes
