You guys are so kind and gentle to people with what may be "obvious" questions, THANK YOU!

I ordered tickets through ARES. I have the email, have not "clicked here" for actual tickets as we are not going until October.

Unsure if we are going to do MaxPass due to limited data plan and lack of interest in carrying phone (another sore spot with folks on other boards, this is a group choice with our travelers.)

Should we decide to use MaxPass, how do I link our tickets to the app?

Thanks in advance.

Once you have the tickets you simply need to scan the barcode into the app using the "link tickets" feature. I did it driving home in a blizzard on a very bumpy road in less than 5 minutes for our two tickets.

ETA this uses the camera feature. You can also enter the ticket number from the code manually.

You lost me at "scan the barcode". No idea what that means/ entails. (yup, I'm old. :) )
I do know how to enter things manually, so I can probably figure it out.

HOWEVER........................and this just occurred to me again............my phone will not download the app. So I will either need to bring my tablet every day (NO thanks!) or stick with the original plan of not using MaxPass.

Since you already know that not using MP is a very real scenario for your trip, start brushing up on your paper FP knowledge/skills now. You have plenty of time to learn the paper FP rules, which rides have FP (not all rides in all lands have FP, so you can save lots of time knowing where not to waste your time looking for a FP machine that doesn't exist -- don't laugh: it happens to people!), how you want to plan your park days with FP (one land at a time or ride by ride?), etc. And you have plenty of time to ask any and all questions. :)

Once you get the app on your phone, you tap on the icon for your account and find where it says "tickets." Tap on that and it should lead you through adding your tickets. You can do this ahead of time and still decide not to buy maxpass. I actually like having the tickets on my phone just in case something should happen to the paper tickets. If you want to use maxpass, you can open the app once you're there and you'll see a big advertisement for maxpass on it. You should be able to tap on that and add it then.

Thank you!
It's quite refreshing to receive an understanding response to the very real possibility of no MaxPass. :)

No worries! It's actually very practical to keep up with your non-MP skills since most rides aren't on the MP/FP system, and sometimes people forget that. For example, in FL, most rides don't have FP/MP, so it is a waste of time looking for the FP machines that don't exist. And you will need other ride line planning skills in place to organize your time there. Focusing exclusively on FP/MP can be a hindrance sometimes when people forget how to do things "the old fashioned way." And if for some reason the FP/MP system goes down during your visit (this has happened occasionally in the past), you'll still be good to go!
